Finally N73 is added to NSU

no they are installed in the memory card... nothing on the main memory ... and i did that installed some of them back and removed them but still they are listed on the app manager... and some won't even install file corrupted or just can't be installed message.... i'm formating the card as we speak..

Now that's strange.. I had the same firmware like yours..

Its just took me 1 shot to update it to the latest.

What is going on with these firmwares? some work some don't

I think Nokia should be reliable.. Why some can update theirs and some can't Its not even about the region now.

I had the same firmware with what this guy have.. It just took me 1 shot!
 
OK I've been through this thread and I guess I'm just missing it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled NSU and but I unable to get it to even show there is an update available. I haven't seen anywhere to change the region code to any number one way or another.
 
Thanks. Finally updated mine too! I just see 1 obvious change which is when making a voice call- it doesn't make that sound anymore. The continous beep sound when video recording though is there still and when on "Silent" and takes a picture, there's still that flashing sound =|
 
You didn't need to format the card. I had the same thing happen to me yesterday after I upgraded the firmware. Here's what you need to do. Go into App.Mngr. towards the top it showed me filenames (1000afe.sis [as an example]) and under neath it would say "Not Installed" and also they had the card icon. I hooked the phone up to the computer, put it in Mass Storage mode, searched for those exact file names (actually each one was in a folder with the same name, minus the .sis), then I deleted those files/folders and everything was good to go. The entries even disappeared from App. Mngr.


Also to the person inquiring if anyone has upgraded their HK phone. I had localization (11) which is HK as far as I know, and I upgraded yesterday w/o any problems. Definite improvements in the phone from .0.0.3 version.
-As I've said, the phone book can be sorted properly by First Name Last Name now).
-When the name of the caller is pronounced, the ringtone doesnt get all quite afterwards (as it used to).
-The BT headset sounds louder (I can actually hear voice activated dialing responses from the phone now) where as they were virtually inaudible (even in the quietest of rooms) before.

just who coudn't get the update just keep trying ... i tried more than 10 times till it said new update and download 57MB for me....

don't give up... keep trying.. i think there is a lot of traffic on their update site
 
sigh...i updated mine last night with v.3.0638.0.0.1 dated 30-10-2006 and Nokia N73 (12 = region 12) and i cant get the shutter noise off. totally bummed out. i cant take pictures of my lectures now.

maybe its the region? any way to change it?

sorry for my questions...i just got the n73 yesterday!
 
Alright, it worked. Yaaay.

Edit: I don't know if this beause of this firmware or if it was in older ones, but I can now sort contacts by first name and then last. Thank god. Most annoying thing.
 
leoking, I honestly don't know why you use Nokia phones. I believe I encountered you on the Nokia forums, as well, and the thread got deleted. All you do is ***** and moan about Nokias, how much they suck cause they won't "fully support their product." Have you ever used any other phone? Every phone's got its problems, you'd be appalled if you tried to use a Windows Mobile device.

Personally you bother the piss out of me. You don't offer any solutions, and the solutions that other people offer, you put them down as "useless" or "stupid."
 
it's because you downloaded old ones to your PC and they are not on server anymore. also if you didn't use PC they might be not on server anymore as you did not check someplase leave copy of e-mail on server.
