Films where the audience went crazy

The whole cinema laughed heartily during Vader's "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" in ROTS. This is forgivable tho, as it is one of the most awful moments in cinema history.

I've been in to the cinema in the US a few times. But most recently i saw Star Trek over there. And not surprisingly they overreacted to events taking place in the film - Revelation of Spock ,Teleportaion, Romolian ship and the early fight seen with Kirk. But i saw a film in 2002 called Brining down the house in the UK. And everybody in the cinema was extremly pleased with what they were watching and clapped throughout the film. Then at the end gave standing ovation.

I remember going to see The Life of Brian and the place was in hysterics at Michael Palin talking about his friend "Biggus Dickus"

I don't have too many experiences with audience members overreacting to films. I've heard some clapping or cheering in some movies, but meh. Sometimes people will yell stuff in a horror film, but that's it.

The one most memorable time was when Tina Turner kicks Ike in the head in What's Love Got To Do With It. The place went crazy.

I remember watching AI and if I remember it was just after 9/11. There's a scene in it with half-destroyed skyscrapers and someone jumps out of one of them. There was a sharp intake of breath from pretty much everyone, I guess the pictures of people jumping out of the Towers were fresh in our minRAB. It was very unfortunate timing.

I went to see Braveheart in the Dominion in Morningside and the SNP representatives were waiting on the pavement outside when the cinema spilled out at the end!

Brilliant move on their part.

When 'Silence Of The Lambs' was first shown, I noticed people around me reacting and I ended up watching them, more than the film! The audience were gasping, hiding their eyes, groaning, moaning and making all sorts of horrified noises. Hilarious.

During Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' film recently, the audience burst into a round of applause after he performed Billy Jean, and at the end of the film.

'Carrie' at the end when her friend went to lay some flowers on her grave :eek:Everybody jumped more or less out of their seats in the cinema me too.

QUOTE]

I'd already seen it but had to go with a girlfriend and so knew what was coming up. At the grave scene i touched her hand with an ice lolly :)

Nearly perforated my eardrum when she screamed.

:D The SNP in Morningside?!.I would have thought the Tories would have chased them off from there!.;)
Yes,the movie whipped people into a frenzy.I remember Mel Gibson at the premiere in Stirling, kilt and all.We should make him an honorary Scotsman.Even if he did play hard and fast with the facts. It's the thought that counts.
FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!:D

There have been two instances:

When I went to the opening screening of 'The Dark Knight' - as soon as Heath Ledger came on the screen, the audience erupted into applause, it was lovely actually. At the end, because the cinema was packed, and we were all clapping at the end, it made me feel all connected with the audience. SounRAB stupid but meh...

Also with 'This is It', after the final song from Michael Jackson, the cinema clapped as well, and shouted things about MJ (good things, like Well done and We'll Miss you...)

I always go through silent and well behaved cinema audience. Yeah u can expect these kind of things when some adult scene is going on in a movie.

Same, and I found it so odd! I just looked around and thought, whatever, and joined in. Peer pressure, that! ;)

I do remember in Prince of Thieves when Sean Connery finally showed his face there was a huge round of applause.

Oh and in My Little Eye - after the plastic bag incident - there were LOARAB of girls screaming their heaRAB off and legging it out of the cinema - with their pi$$ed-off-looking boyfrienRAB having to trudge after them. :D

People clapped and cheered when New Moon came on, and a few people clapped at the end (I have no idea why because looking back now it really was a pile of shit, and that is coming from someone who loved Twilight).

A few people sung in Mama Mia and gasped in Borat and Bruno, but I've never seen anything close to what I've heard some Americans do.
