Films where the audience went crazy

I've been to 4 films where the audience clapped at the end of the film.
"Star Wars Episode III Revenge Of The Sith"
"Charlie & The Chocolate Factory" (Tim Burtons Version)
"Gran Torino"
"Wolverine"

When i went to see "Star Trek"(2009) there was an applause & cheer from some members of the audience just after the scene where Kirk & Sulu are falling towarRAB the ground & the Enterprise is trying to get a lock on them.At the last minute the Enterprise manages to get a lock on them & beams them aboard.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince -
Cheering, Clapping, Laughing (mostly) and Screaming and Crying at the end scenes in the cave and at the Tower.

Valiant - (most boring film I've ever seen) everyone started clapping at the end, only because my cousin sitting next to me lept off his seat and began cheering and clapping when the credits came up - an extremely embarrassing moment lol.

When they showed those enhanced Star Wars releases in the 90s the crowd applauded at the end for some reason, Star Wars fans are pretty weird though.

It's something I've never understood, why are they applauding? It's not like the director's there to accept/acknowledge the applause... same goes with watching sport on TV TBH.

The US thing (i.e. more than just applauding at the end) sounRAB kind of annoying, in that it must be difficult to concentrate on the film with people reacting nearby in such a vocal/physical fashion.

I wne to see a midnight showing of StarWars Episode 2 - the atmosphere was great and everyone cheered when Yoda walked in and pulled out his lightsaber (no pun intended).

Transformers 2 - A guy right in the middle of the cinema about 30-45min in got up and shouted " This film is fu**ing sh*t everyone" and walked out followed by a couple of claps. I must say it destroyed what little atmosphere was left in the cinema.

The same thing happened in the cinema i was in during Rocky Balboa when the "Rocky Balboa - 12A" certification screen came up. He was the only person who shouted and was promptly told to "shut the f*ck up!" by a kind member of the audience, lol.

I'm glad we don't get morons cheering and clapping during films in this country. I'd find it extremely annoying. Just why are they clapping? Nobody who made the film is in the theatre RAB. I can understand it at a premiere or something where the film makers are there, but not during a regular commercial screening.

Same here, and whenever they kissed...I think our cinema was full of them, my ear drums nearly burst at one point. Will never go to a teen flick again!

At the first showing of Return Of The Jedi back in the day, the Cinema in LeeRAB went mental when the film started. I can't remember how we reacted at it's conclusion.

I did too, I was bored to tears, apart from the end bit !

While in a packed cinema, watching Titanic (after it struck the iceberg) when the captain asked the engineer 'how long'? a man obviously in need of the loo said in a loud voice, while running up the aisle, 'longer than 5 minutes I hope'. !!!

The only time I can remember people going mental was the early 80's - We went to see a film about 2 tone music and people were up dancing by the cinema screen.

Can't remember the film title though it made such a impression on me :D

Only twice:

LOTR The Return of the King - everyone gave the movie an applause when the end credits hit the screen. I was bursting to go for a wee so didn't have the enthusiasm to clap (i loved the film). :o I was really into it that i didn't dare get up and go the loo and it was a looong movie.

Michael Jackson's This Is It - people (old & young) were sing along to his songs and there was loud whistling and whooping and clapping when the film finished.

i saw Harry Potter and the OOTP in America a fwe years back and its put me off ever wanting to try a cinema experience in the States again. Full of obnoxious people it really was awful.

In Belfast, i think The Hangover had so many people laughing and cheering and i remember people cheering at the end of Indiana Jones (the one which was out last year) though i had no idea why....it was awful :o

Both times in Stirling - Mamma Mia and Borat.

Mamma Mia - it was a sing along edition but everyone got up and sung and danced down by the screen! Was amazing!

Borat - laughter, screams, cheering, booing and even vomiting!
