Films that have made you cry, or have put a lump in your throat

This may sound VERY sad, but I always cry at Singin in the Rain.

It's my favourite film of all time, and I just love the part when Gene Kelly puts Debbie ReynolRAB on the ladder and sings to her. I'd love that to happen to me. And Debbie knew all the dance steps. Amazing. So romantic.

I also cry at the end of the film when Kathy (Debbie ReynolRAB) is running away because she thinks she's been humiliated and Don (Gene Kelly) shouts "stop that girl. That girl is the girl who's voice you heard tonight". Then he sings to her.

God, if Gene Kelly were still alive and 60 years younger...

Great, great, great film.

lol Don't worry, I cried when Santa appeared in Polar Express too and then when the little lad got off the train and Santa had already been and his present was there and the house was all decorated.

Yes, Ghost was another 'sobber', but I've just had a little weep when I've seen it since.

Powder - Sean Patrick Flannery's performance is amazing, I cry through a lot of this.

The Green Mile - I cry most of the way through this as well.

Sad and pathetic I know!!! :o

Lol, you sound like me.
I'm such a soft git, I cried during:

Mrs Doubtfire :o , Bicentenial Man :o , Shawshank(when the old man kills himself), Bambi, K pax, sometimes even Neighbours on tv :o I'm such a puff.

The Abyss

The bit where Ed Harris' character shouts and slaps Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio's character to come back to life when the both gets back to the underwater oil rig after getting trap in a sub and the water rushes in......

Leaves a lump in my throat.

Not sure if it counts as a film or TV programme but "Goodbye Mr Tom" gets me every time it's shown especially the bit where he says "I can ride a bike, dad, I can do it." I'm welling up now just typing it!

Was crying buckets at that, I jus thought it would be a story of the girl finally becoming a successful boxer or something, really wasn't expecting the ending!!

Never cried, but had a lump in my throat after:
Titanic - although I was about 10 at the time
The Butterfly Effect [Directors Cut] - at the end, and when Evan is talking to the lead girl saying "You were happy with me" or something when she's a crack whore.

Well this may sound silly and i don't usually cry watching films, and this was suppose to be a comedy but does anyone remember"Cocoon 1"? This always gets to me, when the old man didn't let the wife use the "Healing" swimming pool, and then the old lady dies and he takes her the swimming pool when she's already dead, trying to revive her...

It's not a movie but I actually cryed watching " The royals" -Queen of Sheba ,When Barbara was doing "Nan's" hair, when "nan" died, I guess I have a thing for crying in comedies...

At the end of Hard Candy when...

Hayley tells Jeff on the roof that she was lying about who she was and says about being every girl he ever hurt etc.

You found a good thread to revive!

I sobbed through Forrest Gump, Four Weddings, An Affair to Remember, Sophie's Choice and Random Harvest among very many I've cried to....starting with Bambi.
