Films that have made you cry, or have put a lump in your throat

It took me 10 attempts to understand what he said in the last line of Brokeback Mountain, in fact, I only finally understood when I resorted to subtitles and then I think I'd kind of lost the moment because I still don't get the "Jack, I swear" bit. In fact, the whole film was better the second time round with subtitles so I didn't have to struggle to hear what Ennis was saying. As much as I love Heath Ledger and loved BBM there was a whole lot of mumbling going on during that film. Have a look at Ledger on Ellen's chat show - her BBM skit (absolutely hilarious) and his explanation of the mumbling. Heath Ledger on Ellen - YouTube

Oh yes, that one got me too.

Pretty much anything with animals in it - I avoid them for that reason. Watched about 30 seconRAB of Babe before having to switch over.

ET.

Dragonheart.

Oh, and most recently, and possibly most pathetically - the scenes in Ice Age when they showed what happened to Manny's family and when they thought Diego had died.

The Lion King - When Mufasa is killed and Simba finRAB him and tries to wake him up.

Forrest Gump - When Forrest reaRAB the letter from Forrest Jr. to Jenny at her grave.

Titanic - The last 30 odd minutes.

The Snowman - When the little boy wakes up and realises his friend is gone.

Bambi - When his mother dies and he walks around calling out for her.

Dumbo - When he meets his mother again and she cradles him.

Toy Story 2 - The "When She Loved Me" song gets me going.

The Champ - Enough said.

Watership Down - Bright Eyes - again, enough said.

I'll cry at anything basically.

Paddy :D

the sisterhood of the travelling pants

when the girl with lukemia dies at the end i cried for hours!!

oh and i know this isnt a film, but the tv programme the other day about 9/11 made me cry too

I must admit that very few films actually move me to tears, and when they do it's usually the strangest things that set me off:
The part in 'The Way We Were' when a very drunk Hubbell sleeps with Katie and the next morning she realises he doesn't remember, always has me welling up.
In 'Cool Runnings' when the bobsled crashes and you think they must have sustained serious injuries, if not died, gets me every time.
It's quite bizarre and embarrassing that things like that and programs like 'Eastenders' can make me blub, and yet I've sat in the cinema and watched things like 'Schindler's List' (everyone was crying except me), 'Saving Private Ryan' (ditto) and 'Titanic' without a tear.
:o

E.T
Bambi
Lassie
Titanic
...and others

I don't really cry at the end of films but do feel a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye!

I think everyone who has watched E.T must feel this way at the end, it's both a happy and sad ending together. One of the best films ever made in my opinion.

Monsters Inc, when Sully has to say goodbye to Boo  Im a grown guy but for some reason it made me feel sad.

And Miami Vice 2006 ( only becuase it was soooo bad  )

I always flippin' blub, which is why I make a point of not watching sad movies. I don't want to pay good money for a film to make me miserable, the news is free :D

A so called friend however recommended Pay It Forward, telling me it was a really good film, I'd love it, etc. So, I watched it. I bawled my eyes out and have never trusted her since :D

I forgot to add .. Narnia - Watched this on a plane over the summer, was trying SO hard not to cry!

Love Actually!

Now and Then :( - Just reminRAB me of my frienRAB and growing up and stuff!

King Kong (2005)

LOTR ... when Gandalf 'died'

When I was little things like Short Circuit (my mum actually thought I was going to hyperventilate) The land before time, Batterys not included :(

I cry at all sorts on the tv aswell, soaps, docu's, drama's .. you name it! Buffy and DC are the worst though!

But your right it's the music that makes the lump in your throat appear I think!
