"Family Guy: Something, Something...Dark Side" DVD/Blu-ray Talkback (Spoilers)

I was going to ask who was playing Yoda, as I didn't recognize him. I'm guessing it's a character that was introduced after I gave up trying to watch it on Fox. I've only seen scattered episodes here and there since the start of Season 6.

Awe man this one looks better than the first one. Animation looks awesome and some funny stuff here, I laughed at a few jokes even in the trailer, can only imagine how the entire thing will be. Can't wait, maybe I will buy it, who knows how long it will be till it comes out on TV. LOL Poor Meg, doesn't seem to have a part in these things ever :p

Agreed.
Also, Seth Macfarlane voiced 25 characters in this special.

Did anyone catch the animated version of Seth Macfarlane in this special?

A little off topic, but if during a season they only commentate 4 or 5 episodes and not all of them, I would rather all be commentated on in some way.

Actually, I read that this year's season finale will be the adaption of Return of the Jedi, while this'll premiere the week before it.

Remember, "Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" was originally going to premiere last May, so it makes sense that they make up for the television delay by showing the third special around the same time.

Well as far as Family Guy is concerned, every episode gets commentaries these days. While I get Parker and Stone's reasoning behind not wanting to dull full episode commentaries (kinda) I really wish they would stop trying to be different (or lazy?) and commit to full commentaries. I'm sure they have more to say than, "We decided to do this in this episode. And we don't want to talk anymore so we're done. Bye."

I saw this last night, and I was laughing throughout the entire special, and though it was just as great as Blue Harvest. My only complaint was some of the same gag from the regular Family Guy episodes being reused again, but nonetheless, were funny in the special.

Was there really the need to flash the title Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Dark Side" about 6 seperate times throughout the trailer?

The re-used gags didn't really bother me. I think I could have laughed more if the trailer didn't show so much but I still had a blast and I look forward to the next installment. :)

What about it was misplaced.

I don't get why so many people hate the "bathtub" gag so much. It's a 5 second joke. Heh, the table read indicates that another one of Stewie's mispronunciation jokes was supposed to be in this episode ("Fahlcon" as opposed to "Falcon"). Would you rather have that go on for a half minute? LOL

Well, it didn't have the bang that the original had due to no actual fat guy falling two stories from a bathtub naked, from his house. It more relied on the voice of Mike Henry, and that didn't work. However, when the tub gag is used in the proper text, fat black man falling out of his house from a bathtub naked two stories high, I love it. I had a recognition laugh, then an "oh no that isn't so good like that".

Well, they seemed to flash the title after every single scene. It seemed almost like they were trying to beat the title into your brain or remind you of what you were watching.

In the commentary what did some of you think about their reaction to Cookie Monster now being Veggie Monster?

Their reaction had me dying. It was awesome.
