Actually, McFarlane said in a recent interview that the third special might use American Dad and The Cleavland Show characters. So, there's no reason why they wouldn't.
The deal with the sofa (especially the shot of Peter/Han stuck on the ramp hanging onto it as they leave the Death Star) is probably one of my all-time favorite Family Guy gags.
The joke with the sofa is hilarious because that's exactly how people act when they try to move a piece of heavy furniture like that. A lot of us have been there. I know I have.
I got it, and the person who gave it to me said it was really raunchy, but I really didn't think so. She made me think there would be a bunch of nudity.
You know, 9 minutes in and the Juicy Fruit Gag makes me ask when does it get funny. Why go off on a tangent on Juicy Fruit, did I miss the funny part. And why did Peter/Han take an extra long time to say "on the outside"?
I've shown this episode to two of my closest friends and the Juicy Fruit sequence got a gigantic laugh from both of them. I just think that direct references to things I remember from my childhood done Family Guy-style are insanely funny. I can't explain why this works or why everyone I know finds this type of gag funny. It's just hilarious.
I admit to laughing at the Juicy Fruit part, though it was more a laugh of recognition than anything, like "Hey, I remember that ad!" I doubt the scene will be very humorous upon rewatches because of that. Still, there's enough material in the movie that is funny without saying, "Remember this?" to recommend it.
actual Rocky 4 scenes with Ivan Drago. I just felt like I want to watch some Rocky 4 though. Rocky 4 is better than this, by far, but we already know that
Whuh? Isn't that like comparing apples to oranges?
After my third time watching this I have to say it's really grown on me. Doesn't hurt that Empire is definitely the best of the SW movies. And just as an FYE, the asteroid chase music is probably my all-time favorite piece of SW music.
I would give this a three out of five. It got me to laugh at some parts, but I just thought how they tried to use the Back to the Future ending made it a little hard to make sense into it all. Me being a huge BTTF fan, I still didn't find it funny, just felt like they were riding on the endings power.
I bought it, and I am happy to have had the ability to say I enjoyed it.
If I have one complaint with the cover art is that they went with profiles of Peter and Lois, which I just don't like. Stewie even points out in "Peter's Progress" how profile views just don't work for these characters. I'm surprised to see them use profile on cover art like this.
