"Family Guy: Something, Something...Dark Side" DVD/Blu-ray Talkback (Spoilers)

I highly enjoyed it.

I have not had enough time to go through all the special features. So far from what I've heard from the commentary is great!

Ending was hilarious.

I have trouble watching the commentary as it goes over the sound track for way too long. If it only took up say, 15 or so minutes, I would be fine, but they just ramble on and on, making it impossible to follow the show at the same time. And when they ramble, it isn't funny.

Cash-In I bought the Family Guy "Movie" because I thought this will be funny and it'll be open to a select few who bought it few months later the piece crap comes to TV and the only difference is a couple of funny gags didn't make it, and unnecessary cussing I wouldn't to sling no slang (gotta get ghetto) that movie back into the depths of the 0.99 bin :anime:

Since I had already seen the special I was more interested in what they were saying more that watching it again when viewing the commentary.

Ummm right.

However, buying those three episodes in movie form is the only way to get them on DVD. The "Untold Story" DVD also features brand new opening and closing sequences of the characters attending the movie's theatrical "premiere".

Whuh?

Why would you turn on the commentary if you want to follow the show? You can't do both. Sometimes I think you try a little too hard to find fault with Family Guy-related stuff, because this particular complaint has me utterly confused.

Watch the episode without the commentary and enjoy it. And then turn on the commentary and focus on that. You can't do both at the same time.

Also I found a lot of stuff they mentioned in the commentary interesting.
Like some of the earlier concepts they had for certain scenes and what not.

I liked it....it was just as funny as "Blue Harvest"....my favorite parts..

The opening screen crawl...I love how they pointed out that Fox had so little faith in Star Wars that they gave George Lucas all the merchandising rights....

Peter/Han saying "Most of the main characters are on this ship...I think we'll be fine"...

Peter/Han's final line to Lois/Leia before being frozen in carbonite...

Stewie/Darth Vader saying "SPOILER ALERT!!!" right before revealing the truth to Chris/Luke....

The "Back to the Future II" ending being used after Chris/Luke complains about the ending...

Yet another reference to Robot Chicken, which Peter still dislikes, but this time Peter also decided to get to Chris by mentioning the movie "Without a Paddle" (which Chris' VA ,Seth Green was in)....

There's a couple things in there I would love to have seen for the first time while actually watching it (like the bit with the tripped AT-AT), but now I really can't wait for this to come out. :D

The title of the thread clearly states "spoilers." There is a known risk involved if you decide to enter the thread.

I thought it was pretty good, although not a good as the last one. I can't wait for number 3.

At the time I made that post this thread was titled as the pre-release discussion. This thread was recently retitled as the talkback discussion instead of someone making a new thread.

I think I will try the fact ups first, as you can pay attention to the story at the same time. I have to see it a few more times before I can go blind into a commentary of it.

And my complaint is how at some points, there is little interesting things being duscussed, as if they are just waiting to talk about another scene. If someone has viewed it, they have seen said scene, and they should talk about it. I guess I want more of a discussion of the movie during it, and then when they are done, I can finish the story. I don't want some parts to have no "action", I want it all to be fun, and if that means not taking up the whole 54 minutes, then don't take up the whole thing. Does that make sense?

No. What you're saying is that you want all the import parts of the commentary condensed in as little time as possible so it wont take up the entire 54 minutes and you want the regular audio to resume so you can just continue watching the episode when the commentary is over??

I enjoy the banter between the cast and crew of Family Guy even if it's not screen specific. That actually interests me quite a bit. I watched the commentary earlier today and enjoyed it. What do you want, something along the lines of South Park's "commentary minis"?
