Broadcast Order: Season 7, Episode 2
Production Order: Season 6, Episode 5

Writers: Brian Scully
Director: Michael Kim

Another new episode of Family Guy airs tonight at 9 PM Eastern. Tonight's episode is directed by Michael Kim, who usually does good work on the show. Here's the synopsis:

Seth wants the season to end with "Something Something Something Dark Side." According to this list, there are 11 episodes until then. That would make this season just as short as the last, with no strike excuse. (And you can bet Fox'll charge you $50 for the equally short DVD of these babies.)

Based on that remark, and some others he's said earlier that I can't remember, I don't really blame Fox for the super-short FG seasons of late. I think it's Seth that's holding them back. It was revealed during the strike that as long as he works there, he has final say over the cut of an episode. I guess he's a perfectionist. (Yeah, stop laughing.)

What worries me is, between this and KOTH's short season, Fox might get comfy with less expensive seasons with the same ratings results, and give all its animated programs 13-episode seasons from now on. Blech! Let's really hope not.

The "didn't have time to poop cutaway" was great. I'm sure we can all relate to that, and it was executed well.

Fun trivia: This is written by Brian Scully, previously a Simpsons writer. And YES, Michael Kim directs!

Loved Peter talking fast. Reminds me of those '40s crime drama movies where everyone talks a mile a minute. Good execution on the water squirt gun instead of being a real gun.

Haha, Office Space reference.

I dunno about all of you but I stopped after the PSA bit. Besides, isn't that gag getting tired and old supposed to be part of the plot for this episode?

Jesus is working at a record store?

Okay, NOW it's officially gotten old.
