EXORCIST IS NOT SCARY!!! o.o

James Ferman was an idiot but the last time I checked that wasn't illegal.

The Exorcist remains (for me) one of the greatest horror films ever made. If I was around at the time of it's original release then yes, it would have scared me.

Personally, The Exorcist unnerves me, I don't feel comfortable watching it but I always see it out until the end.

I never found it scary, even as a kid.

The girl didn't do much while she was possesed. except lay in bed like she was sick with a bad case of food poisoning.

What would be the point of a demon possesing someone only to let them rot and do, spider walks backwarRAB. Can't believe that scene was banned.

The most scary films, portray real life serial killers.

What was the spoof called with Leslie Nielsen and Linda Blair? It had the song "Devil With A Blue Dress On"
I had it on video many moons ago but would love it on DVD.

What have I said that hasn't happened?
Everything in my post is true
I am well aware of the history of allowing hardcore into the UK and what I said had nothing to do with porn.

My post related an accurate picture of events completely separate from the porn business.

However its still illegal to supply R18 anywhere bar a sexshop . You cannot even buy it mail order from a UK based company

I think you will find that bestiality has not appeared in any UK titles put before the BBFC and in fact since January this year if you are found in possession of or even view bestiality material you are liable for a 3 year prison sentence so anyone out there with animal sex images on their PC or phone should watch out as you will be as likely to suffer a visit from Plod as if you had kiddie porn .

While the BBFC tried to reject the introduction of legal hardcore that was a totally separate issue to the films I posted about.
The fact is that the second Ferman was gone all the films he made such a fuss about like The Exorcist all started appearing and getting passed

Can't say I found it scary, but that might be down to a generational thing again. Whilst it may have had audiences screaming years ago, I just asked my boyfriend of the time why the Italian family spoke to one another in English at home. I did that kind of thing with the original Dawn of the Dead(? - the one set in a shopping mall) as well, just took the mickey out of it.

Commonly called Mysting. It's a sign that the film it either failing to hold you attention conventionally, or that it's risibley bad.

Do it a lot myself, to the great annoyance of my GF. Though I do often get her to laugh, which can get her even more annoyed, of course. But worth it.

yeah i would agree,Exorcist 3 is an ok film, but Exorcist 2 lost the plot before it had one,

as for the prequels Steer well clear of the Renny Harlin one:D

The Exorcist is my all-time favourite film. I saw it several times at the National Film Theatre, the final time being when it was re-released in 1998. After the showing William Friedkin was interviewed on the stage by Mark Kermode and Friedkin made it clear that the film we'd just seen (the original 1973 version) was "my" version of the film - i.e the Director's Cut.

Spot on this is my take on it also.
Watched it last night (om my own in a dark room lol) it doesnt scare but its certainly disturbs.

Great film.

I don't find it scary of frightening in any way, I actually dislike the film. It doesn't appeal to me at all, I think it's overhyped to such an extent that people feel the need that they ''have'' to be frightened by it - well sorry, I don't think it's very good.

Do you think it's not very good because you aren't frightened by it,that it doesn't click with you etc.

I don't find it scary for various reasons, but I still feel it's the greatest horror movie ever made. It's just so perfectly constructed and acted from beginning to end.

Not scary no, but very few films actually are. It still has at least one scene that's pretty shocking 30 years later and which you would never see in another mainstream movie even in our more desensitised times.

However, as far as filmmaking goes, on every level it's technically flawless and frankly beyond criticism.
