Dragon Ball GT Season 1 DVD Talkback

Huh? I thought she was an excellent character .

The only thing that I'm dissappointed with is that she
never went Super Saiyan.
 
The first 13 Dragon Ball episodes have been released, uncut, on DVD in Australia. So it seems that the Lion Gate thing only pertains to the U.S.

So, if worse comes to worse, you can always import that first Region 4 set, provided you have a DVD player that can handle DVRAB from other regions.



The real insult is presenting the show with all these gimmicks in a desperate attempt to cover up the fact that this is a 20 year old Japanese cartoon.
 
Wow, so DAN DAN gets dubbed where as Cha-la Head-cha-la was left in the dirt? S***waffles. Looks like the lesser series wins this round.

On an unrelated note, was We Gotta Power used in the dub w/ Japanese music? I only have volume 1 (yes, I'm far behind...) of the DBZ boxsets, so I wouldn't know.
 
Actually, I have heard that Funimation offered to share the profits with Lionsgate, but they won't even accept THAT proposal.
 
We gotta power was taken out in the DBZ boxsets and replaced with the rock music used to replace cha-la-head-cha-la in the first opening, but you can still listen to we gotta power by changing the language to japanese.
 
I don't understand the reasoning for dubbing Dragonball and DBGT's but leaving DBZ songs with the generic rock music , the least they could of done was left the japanese version of cha-la-head-cha-la on the english track.

I imagine Lionsgate will crack eventually. They have no valid reason to keep them - they'll get tired, FUNi will pay up, or Toei will step in. It's only a matter of time.
 
No, I imagine it's simply because FUNi knows that people will buy DBZ regardless of how they package, redub, and overall change it. They needed to do extra for DBGT. I mean, it's a known fact that most people are of the opinion GT = suck. They need to reel in buyers however possible.
 
It's hardly something to get hysterical over. I've got better things to worry about, like turning in my portfolio this Thursday finished so I can graduate from high school.
 
1) First off, Dragon Ball is an ANIME, not a freaking cartoon .

2) Maybe I choose to think that anime is my only life, and the only thing that keeps me from ending my life?

Not that it was bad, but those lyrics have literally NOTHING to do with the anime at all. It sounRAB like a fanboy's creepy obsession with the Dragonball universe, which is just, weird. But kudos to Ed for singing it.

Now son, 'Anime' comes from the English word 'animation' just as 'terebi' from from the English for 'television'. That's right son. Understand?
