I saw this movie because I adore Diego. I didn't go in with any expectations and i'm glad I didn't because it wasn't that great. The dance scene (Which is technically the great climax) was just stiff and boring.

BUT they did have good chemistry and it was cute. Just not even slightly worthy of being associated with the first

That's it, I don't like tone less bodies or boy faced actors. I like men. I like Gael Garcia because he has this charm, I can't put my finger on it but something like that. However I didn't like him (looks wise) in "YTMT" because he looked too young.

Yeah, since I heard the idea of a sequel which had Ricky Martin and Christina Ricci I think (or was it) and I got excited. Then I heard they were filming it in San Juan, I live like 30 minutes away from there, and I got even more excited but then it got cold and then suddenly the movie got made and well, I lost all interest.

Maybe I'll watch it in a couple of years.

It's not ruining a "classic". I haven't seen the first one, but this one is supposedly nothing like it. Maybe they shouldn't have named it after the other, but whatever, I still think it's worth a look, even if it is just to see the dancing.

I had the same idea going into it but I wish TPTB wouldnt call this movie a sequel, or put the #2 on the end. I think it just should have been called Havana Nights for the DD fans (like me) and we should have spotted Patrick Swayze and that be the only comparison to DD. Patrick can still move!!!

If you are in the mood for a sometimes cheezy movie, but great dancing then this is it. Plus its great for Diego fans.

I also rented it this week..well my mom did. I didn't like it at all. I think all they did was steal the idea and try to cash in on the name. And why was it called based on a true story or whatever. The dancing wasn't as good at all..probably because they got actors, not actors who can dance. It just seems like they half-assed it too much to me. I also hated the touch of "Time Of My Life" throughout it... and the homages to the first movie.

I've seen the first one and I never like it, so with a second one I figured I wouldnt even bother.

But damn, I saw the previews and I'm so excited to see this.

I think I didn't like the first because I can't stand Patrick Swayze for the life of me.

i can't wait to see this movie because i am such a huge fan of dirty dancing so i will definitely love dirty dancing:havan nights.

I can't wait to see this movie. I loved "Dirty Dancing", and the previews for this movie look really good.

I rented this movie last week and I didn't like it. The acting was bad and the writing wasn't to much better. Diego Luna did nothing for me. I just didn't care for any of the lead actors so maybe that's why I didn't like the movie. I like cuban music but I didn't the music in this movie nor did I like the dancing. I knew it wouldn't measure up to the original but I decided to give it a chance anyway. I'm glad some of you liked it.

Well, the first one was based on the writer's own experiences with minor details for dramatic impact.

I haven't seen this and I don't like Diego Luna that much so as much as nostalgia knocks on the door I won't attempt to see it for the time being. I don't want to ruin my crush with the first one.

I like Dirty Dancing because it wasn't about the money. It had nothing to do with milking the golden cow of the Box Office jackpot. Plus, as a little girl I had the biggest crush on the movie.

um yeah...I'm not excited about this movie. In my opinion, it should never have been made. You can't mess with what has become as classic icon in society. Why screw up a good movie? If people today want to see Dirty Dancing, let them watch the REAL Dirty Dancing.

Hey,

I hope someone can help me. I'm looking for this music in the movie. It's playing while the both of them are dancing in front of the projector screen. It's one of the hottest scenes IMO and I just love the music in it. Unfortunately I couldn't find it anywhere but maybe someone here has it or knows where I can find it?

I saw it tonight and really enjoyed it. Diego Luna was hot, the dancing was great, and the music was amazing. You should all buy the soundtrack. I have it and love it.

Yeah, that completely justifies acting ability, uber-hotness. It's all about the hotness! Screwing acting and on-screen presence, all that matters is that they are HOT!

Anyway, sarcasm aside, I happen to like Amores Perros and Bernal is a great actor. Luna is a good actor as well, but looks-wise, you have to like babyfaced actors and smooth tone-less body (from Y Tu Mama Tambien, Luna has no muscle definition).
