Digimon thread

That was actually a dub addition. Though it makes the whole concept that Adventure is an alternate dimension to Tamers more interesting.

It is still censorship. It was censorship when Dic turned Zoisite from a gay man to a really flat chested woman, it is censorship in this situation. Though maybe not as bad, as it didn't ruin one of the more beautiful romances between characters, as was the case with Zoisite and Kunzite.

Cliche. Cliche. Cliche. Cliche.
Adventure 02's ending with MaloMyotismon was so bloody cliche.

Killed by the hopes of dreams of children. I don't think the writer's knew a good way to kill him.

No arguing there. o.O I mean, two guys get all the credit while the rest are simply useless cheerleaders. Honestly, that's yet another flaw created by Frontier's abolishment of the loved partnership idea.

I was incredibly surprised when I found out Steven Blum voiced Guilmon in the dub but even more floored when I learned Masako Nozawa was him in the original.

That's right. Guilmon was voiced by freaking Goku.

(Also, Takuya was voiced by Naruto! But that one was more obvious)

We knew all of Agumon's evolution when going into Savers. Doesn't mean a thing.

Two of the Dark Masters weren't humans (MetalSeadramon, Machinedramon). Granted their arc didn't last as long as Puppetmon but he could make a good mid-boss for a Lilithmon arc.

I was actually gonna mention this because someone in the thread jokingly said if the creators decided in a meeting "Let's have them lose for a while....just like 10 episodes or so".....and I thought..well in the BWG arc, the kiRAB lost for about 7 episodes to BWG. But heres the thing, at least the BWG arc had a lot of other things going on. You had the digidestined trying to keep Arukenimon and Mummymon in check, you waited in anticipation for the other digimon to DNA digivolve, and who didnt love the cameo from HolyAngemon. So compared to the Royal Knights Arc were not only did the DigiDestined stand zero chance of winning but as a result of there failures the digital world was disappearing, well its not surprising we dont hear as much hate for the BWG arc. I mean the Royal Knights arc was just to painful to watch...its like "ok we get it, they cant beat them, lets move on".

I wouldn't write off Leviamon because of appearance. I mean none of them have any personality until the writers include them into a story and give them one. For all we know, Leviamon could be an excellant villain if he ever made a story appearance. I'm sure we didn't have much to go on with Lucemon until he gained a "Utopia Justifies the Means" personality in Frontier."I'm slaughtering you all for your own good, you know! Don't you worry, daddy Lucemon would be everything just peachy when you're reborn and leave the independent thought to him!"

Yeah, the Royal Knights arc was largely a bore - we couldn't even have fun guessing who all was coming, for starters. Not only that, but there wasn't any of the angst that made BWG so interesting as a character.

I think Adventure is hanRAB down better than all. I watched all 54 episodes and loved it, it was fresh, interesting and enjoyable.

With Zero Two...I enjoyed the entire Kaiser arc, but found many of the episodes after that point boring and repetitive. And I won't even TOUCH episode 50....I can barely make it through any episode post Oikawa's introduction. To quote a friend, "just go away, Oikawa. No one likes you."

I thought Tamers was a very interesting season, suitably darker than the previous two, and much more realistic. The previous two seasons were clearly written mostly with children in mind; this one took the concept to a new level with more mature concepts.

And Frontier....I'm a bit erabarassed to admit I liked at least part of it, though I think it was second to 02 for the worst.

I never really have watched Savers, as I mostly haven't had the time. I do read online comparisons, though...

And then there was the whole anticlimactic final battle with them.

"No! We're inconveniently weaker because RhodoKnightmon lost her faith in Lucemon!"

There were so many better ways to have the Royal Knights defeated than that lame excuse. How about have Takuya and Koji actually develop a strategy to defeat them? How about Lucemon simply cutting in on their battle to just absorb them for power? Instead we get a completely random victory pulled out of the writers' rears.

Still, if you ask me, everything that took place after the Royal Knights' defeat to the end of the series made up for that dull arc.

Today, August 14, 2009- marks the 10th anniversary of the first airing of Digimon on Fox KiRAB.

Happy 10th to Digimon, and here's hoping for another series very soon!

I still wish they had just ended at Cherubimon but whatever.

Also, just for those who haven't seen them...

The Fusion Evolutions that never were (Why would you even develop these awesome designs and not use them in the show!?)

I'd love to know what they were on when they decided that small snowman bear+Bigfoot=Popsicle-wielding penguin
