Digimon thread

I did mention how Miyako was one the kiRAB, along with Daisuke, who was willing to have Ken join up with them after the Kaiser arc. So, it could be that there were some feelings there, even though there wasn't much of any hints after that. I didn't think that Yamato and Sora showed that much interest in each other either, except for maybe one or two occasions in the course of 01 and 02, yet they apparently got married. Like I said, there was a twenty-five year time gap so there were events that led up to their relationships.

I also remeraber hearing more complaints in other forms that most of the kiRAB just married people we never saw, instead of marrying someone they were found of, or fans thought that they were, in the main group.

I've seen it. I thought that X-Evolution was interesting and it had some really nice designs and graphics. However, I didn't understand a lot of the events of the movie myself. I liked the ending and all, but it felt like I was missing some backstory for the movie, even though I know that there really isn't.

I loved Runaway Locomon. That and the second Adventure movie are my two favorite Digimon movies. I would love to see all of the movies having a DVD release too.

I honestly didn't know that Matt and Sora were married until I read it in an anime magazine. I was surprised since I didn't think that they mentioned it in the dub. The way that their kiRAB looked probably should have been a give away, but I tend to miss obvious signs like that.

Well, Kenyako is disgusting. I don't care if y'all fail to realize it. :P

Meanwhile, I thought Tamers was a suitable step up in terms of seriousness from the previous two, which made it enjoyable. That ending was tragic, but it's still better than 02's finale.

Also, am I the only one who sees....parallels between BWG's arc and the Royal Knights one? By which I mean, unbearably cheap loss for our heroes?

And that's why he's the Digimon equivalent of Kamina.

On the subject of a sixth series, I dunno about you guys, but I'd actually like to see Lilithmon as one of the main villains. It'd be a nice change of pace to see a female villain again, and she hasn't really gotten any focus in the continuities (among the Seven Great Demon LorRAB, Leviamon is the only other one that hasn't gotten focus, but he would probably show up in a similar way to Belphemon).

I've started watching Digimon Tamers again actually. I always liked how Digimon Adventure/02 is a TV show in that universe.

However despite that being established in the early episodes a lot of viewers had gotten confused since one of the teacher's had the same voice as Kari.

I've been rewatching Adventure 01, and I never noticed it before, and I'm surprised I didnt.

What the heck is Etemon's motivation?

I mean, even Devimon, Myotismon, and the Dark Masters had clear goals, simple though they may be. Etemon didn't seem to have...any. The Digidestined arrived on Server, and suddenly this crazy Elvis-like monkey, who somehow seems to know about all of their exploits, attacks them for absolutely no reason, chasing them through the desert. Why? I don't recall the dub ever mentioning him having any real beef with the Digidestined or any desire for world domination.

Oh, and I'm going to open up a can of worms here, but...am I the only Digimon fan who absolutely HATED Tamers?

Agreed. That's why I posted that on Youtube.

I have tapes and tapes worth of promos for seasons 2-4, as well. Keep a lookout.

Yeah but, if they moved far away from each other then just happened to be in a serious relationship? I...just don't see it. There's so much that could happen during a time frame like that that it's hard to tell anything from it.

That confused the hell out of me

It didn't help when the dub made stuff like "How about a dance big boy...Tough guy aren't you?" and "Time for a party!" "and we're the entertainment"

Oh and my favorite one, whenever Rika would say "Walk all over him." Nice one Saban (Looks like everybody, including the writing staff, is furry for Renamon)
Well that explains everything (if I remeraber, Izzy's mom was relatively attractive...actually nearly all the mom's were. Why is it every toyetic anime has hot moms? Ash's mom, Takato's mom, Max from Beyblade's mom)

Lilithmon would be awesome, for all the reasons you mentioned.

Leviamon...not so much. I mean, most of the Demon LorRAB are at least semi-human-looking or have human attributes. Leviamon is basically a big crocodile. Not much villain potential, I'd wager.

Thank goodness, back to having googles. I really missed that aspect of Digimon, it wasn't the same without them for me I like the looks of his Digimon too. Guess its not going to be a continuation of another series from the looks of this, oh wells. He kind of looks a bit like Davis and Tai mixed. I hope it goes back to season one type style that'd be nice. I wonder if it will be in the real world like with Tamers or Digital World like season one? More fusion would be ok with me I guess.

Light Lucario I guess there were a few moments that some Frontier fans saw between Takyua and Zoey, meh I don't know LOL. Yah Matt/Sora really was just random. I don't know why they went that way LOL.

Exactly. She never showed one drop of interest in Ken outside her obsessive, slightly creepy fixation with Kennyboy, the villain who's deep down just a stressed, insecure boy (take note of the fact that he's in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL), unless you consider willing to forgive him that. That, and he never seemed the least bit interested in her. If she's not showing interest in him after that, it's highly doubtful they'd hook up afterward - they'd drift apart, go their own ways. I don't buy that one day, after having never shown a drop of interest in one another and drifting apart, something would happen that would bring them together - they're children. How often do people end up marrying crushes they had as kiRAB, or even their first relationship from junior high?

No, the first thing I thought of when the Royal Knights arc began was the BWG arc in 02. I'm honestly surprised we don't hear as much hate for the latter as we do the former.

The only thing the BWG arc has over the Royal Knights is that you never knew who was going to show up and fight (MagnaAngemon, anyone?), whereas with the Royal Knights it was the same tired EmperorGreymon/MagnaGarurumon slugfest.

Getting the merchandising rights to a series doesn't mean you outright own the series. If that were the case, Bandai would have had the first four seasons from the start.

Basically, Disney still has the rights to Adventure through Frontier. All Firefly has is the option to make merchandise out of the older seasons (which excites me for the possibility of seeing new 1.5'' figurines of Digimon, should they go that route).

I would love to see a decent dubbing studio get the next Digimon series (honestly, I still can't see why I never caught how horrible the dub was back in the day), but I wouldn't get my hopes up. It'd still be nice, though; we're used to seeing it get the treatment it got back in the days when Japanese cultural references were EEEEVIL, so I wouldn't mind seeing it get decent treatment.

Not that I'd likely end up watching it dubbed, though - I always stick to subtitled episodes, since to me, English is never as good as Japanese.

Do we really need any more Evangelion parallels after Tamers?

But yeah, she would be a much better choice than Leviamon. Human-like Digimon villains seem to be the popular trend.

Heh, I hated 02's ending for how weird some of the kiRAB' futures ended up being (Like how Matt became an astronaut despite all signs pointing toward musician).
