Digimon thread

Hopefully disney will learn how to market anime with Shippuden, then actually give this a DVD release along with the older season. Until then, I`ll have to stick with my two sets of Homemade Sub and Dub digimon DVRAB.

Well Anime News Network posted an image of the new Series. Seems There s one Main character with goggles. I'm guessing there going back to their roots with this season, plus the Fact he has the same Season 1 style designs. Now the main Digimons seem to fuse together to digivolve. If you look at that Digimon in the back, he is made up by the Red Dino's digimon's body, the Lion digimons arm, the Star digimon as his sword, and the beetle Digimon as another Arm...All I have to say is woooow. Thats a huge fusion evolution. Hope the series looks good.

So anybody seen X-Evolution?

I wouldn't say it was bad by any means but it did make me fall asleep in the middle. Probably since there was a good bit of talking in it for a Digimon movie and I didn't understand half of what was going on. (Felt like I was watching .hack )

I've always been interested in the acting direction for Dub Ruki. I mean, in the original, she's aloof and jerky and all that stuff but it seems like for "Rika" they pushed that to 11 and just made her a complete "b." Not that there was anything wrong with that. Actually, that was a very good job for them to even do that right. Usually, the dubs of that time would always play that character completely wrong but Saban's dub did it well.

Also, again, Dub Renamon is the sex.

Yeah there was pretty nice acting in Tamers. Nice nuances, nice emotion. It brought me near tears in the first few episodes! Kinda impressive when you don't know the characters.

Oooh that VOICE!!

In other important news, it would appear Disney no longer holRAB the rights to Digimon! And clearly something is going on behind the scenes for Digimon in America, so...could we possibly see this new series hit America sooner rather than later?

Then perhaps I just didn't like the way it was all used. I dunno, he just rubbed me the wrong way as a character/villain alot of the times. But this doesn't seem to be about him as much as it is about you not liking someone saying that Savers didn't do something 100% right. There were many things I liked about Savers, but I didn't find it all that awesome to be honest.

But what I really don't agree with is your insistance that the Royal Knights arc wasn't one big "Takuya and Koji stealing spotlight but getting their butts kicked" mess. Most of the "developments" for other characters you listed were pretty short and lame. The series finale with Lucemon was cool but I don't see how anyone could deny how tedious those episodes that came before it were.

Kenyako is just one of those 'childhood friend' fantasies I guess

In the end we never learned anything about the most important pairing of all:

Did Veemon woo Gatomon or not?!

You promise we'd stay for the sunset
And when the moon shines through the darkness
We will find the path that leaRAB us home
And on the way you...
...Maybe...
Sing me a song ...

Runaway Locomon on DVD would kick butt.

The dub made it even worse. They Zoisited RhodoKnightmon, meaning turning the character from someone with a male effeminate voice to one with a female voice. Changed the nature of the Royal Knights relationship.

At least the Savers dub kept RhodoKnightmon as he really was, though they went a little overboard with his voice.

It's not Drullmon, it's Dorurumon, doruru being onomatopoeia of ninja vanish. XP

I wonder if he's a wolf... and he Digivolves to WereDorurumon.

I still don't really see it. The only sign of Takuya and Zoey that I remeraber was when Takuya had dream that he won a date with her after defeating Cheriubmon. Other than that, I didn't think that they were anything more than good frienRAB.

I was also disappointed that Sora and Tai didn't happen. There were a couple of moments during 02 that maybe hinted/showed Yamato and Sora, but the ending with them being married was pretty surprising nonetheless. As for the idea of the chosen children actually developing strong enough feelings to marry, I don't really think it's that much of a stretch. There are cases where people who know each other since childhood marry each other. Plus, we don't really know how their relationship led to marriage. For all we know, Yamato and Sora could have dated each other, broke up, dated other people for awhile, got back together and got married. It's still weird that Sora and Tai didn't marry instead, but with a twenty-five year gap, a lot of things could have happened.

That is certainly an awesome thought and I would love having all of the previous Digimon series on DVD. I'm not sure how likely it is for it the be uncut, but I'd be happy with either uncut or just the English dubs. That would be better than not having any of the previous series on DVD for me.

Yeah, I seem to recall Taichi being in front of the UN building and Daisuke pulling around a ramen cart in Hong Kong, so it's likely that most of them are living far away from each other. But, because of the easy-to-manuver Digital World, they can meet up whenever they feel like it.

Yeah, the Japanese version confirmed that they were married. For some reason, it was the dub that tried to cover up that fact (I think even Saban was rooting for TaiSora).

I still wish they had dubbed it...and the Savers movie...

I'll probably post my thoughts on all five series tomorrow (used to be a HUGE Digimon fan back in the day).
