Destroy the Rebirth - "Gundam 00" Season 2 on SyFy's Ani-Monday Talkback

Yeah, the fanbase isn't sure what to think about that.

The shipping part in me makes me say "Yay!" but the logical fan in me says "This is kinda random...." If anything, it does explain why the SetsunaXMarina angle never seemed to go anywhere.

At the end of last week, in response to his encounter with innovator Regene Regetta, Tieria met with Ribbons Almark in disguise at a party involving some of the some of the top leaders of A-Laws and the Federation. Though shocked to learn of Ribbons' top-level clearance, Tieria refuses his offer join the innovators in exchange for regaining access to Veda. Ribbons intenRAB to use A-Laws to create a unified world for the sake of Aeolia's plans, but the encounter strengthens Tieria's resolve to oppose A-Laws' misdeeRAB as a Gundam Meister. Ribbons mocks Tieria's "human" influence and ultimately insults Lockon Startos, prompting Tieria to attempt shooting him. Unfortunately he is stopped by the Innovator Hilling Care, forcing a dramatic escape.

......oh yeah, and he dressed up like a woman. It's Sumeragi's fault.

Meanwhile, Setsuna met again with Louise. But due to another one of her seizures, he was discovered by Billy Katagiri. As Regene and Wang ponder what will come of the coming conflict between the Innovators and the Gundam Meisters, the two pilots move to escape the scene......

Here's tonight's schedule.

11 PM: Indelible Past
11:30 PM: The Light of Heaven

OH NENA!

Man, Wang is a real jerk. Treating Nena is such a condescending way.

Whoa, there's actually a ton of people at CB's base! We finally get to see the supporting forces. Wait, were the heck were these people?

What was the point of wearing cloaks? Wait, they're literal cloaking devices?

Dude, Ian took a blast like that and survive? He is AWESOME!

But didn't they say the area was borabarded with GN particles which in classic Gundam style was screwing up standard corabat means? These killer robots might have been the best way to do things with that in mind.

Ribbons is an artificial being who's entire angle is he sees himself beyond humans. He never shuts up about it, going on about such things as how his effective immortality was so that he and his kind could see the bigger picture (the irony of that boasting is lost on him). He had moments of 'style' like the party he held but overall he has no time for such trappings. I'm really not seeing the complaint here. I could name some other Gundam shows which spent too much time on style over substance and I prefer 00 for getting to the point. Ribbons isn't supposed to be some whirling theatrical diva, he's an artifical human who has turned on his creators. I think the build up to him was perfect. A big reason why he only fights Setsuna at the end in direct corabat is by that point he's about the only one who can or will (I doubt the Federation are likely to send help after he openly destroyed A-Laws as he did). I'm sorry, direct rivalries are far too played out in Gundam and this was reinforced by the story. Setsuna grew beyond Ali and realised he needed to heal Graham. When I think of Setsuna vs Ribbons, it reminRAB me alot of how in the MSG finale Amuro is gunning down Zakus and then looks at the Zeon fortress whilst commenting that the true enemy is in there (Ghiren). Ribbons was always the threat, a growing menace as the story went on. As Setsuna said "That ego distorts the world!"

The range the ALAWS was at they could have easily fired on base with durab fire missiles (heck durab fire missiles through iron cross-hairs); if the GN particles stopped or retarded the oxidation of the explosive humans would have a trouble breathing and the Jeep probably wouldn't have turned over.

Of course I'm trying to apply real life reason and military tactics to a show about giant humanoid fighting machines made of unobtainium powered by magical sparkley engines and the rule of cool.

So Ribbions is trying to destroy the old world, to bring about his sick, twisted version of the future ruled by supermen? Hmm, were have I heard this before...

Wow, Lousie sounded like Escaflowne's Hitomi!

Speaking of which, Andrei stupidity just increased?

Still, you have also wonder why the Alaws don't use thermobarics. Not only do you not leave behind any evidence of an atrocity, but also get the job done quickly and efficently.

Instead, they use Tachikomias to shoot up people, leaving behind alot of dead bodies, bloody messes, and alot of questions.

Speaking of which, how are those Automations still operating with the GM fielRAB up? You think their commanRAB would get jammed up with the rest of the communications.

Time for Reginne's Revenge! & Setsuna's Judgment!!! HEX YAH!!!

Also, Yay happy ending! Only one more episode left...make me sad!

Also Setsuna not GOD, HE JESUS!!! or mabye Buddah!

But yes it is ironic that he now has the power of a god. (Demi-god whatever.)

The point here, is that the original gundams took YEARS to perfect. So realistically you can't expect major technological leaps between the short timejump. They did what they can, with trying to get 00 working properly, but CB really can't develop better weapons faster than Ribbons, who has more money and resources.

On that note, the side materials showed what CB could have done had they still got the Supercomputer under their control; Tieria could have an EXTRA 2 Gundams attached to his mobilesuit, and control 4 separate Gundams at once.

On a related note, you have to wonder beyond Tieria which is more important- the Drive or the Meister. After zero luck with the other four and Tieria at the controls, Setsuna is able to pull of synchronising the drives that belonged to his Exia and 0 Gundam. Were they simply just a match or did Kid Gundam himself have something to do with it?

So we missed out on a WMD too? Geez, I'm actually hoping they do it again just so I can see it.

Gurren Lagann beat you to that second Noah's Ark, Ribbons (at least in America).
