Destroy the Rebirth - "Gundam 00" Season 2 on SyFy's Ani-Monday Talkback

You know, to be honest, both versions of the song work. The English one sounRAB very close to the original. And yeah, the singing is far better than anything dub Lacus did.

This episode possibly has the worst plot hole of the series, considering that during the credits the piano is shown as being outside of the base. What, they actually went to the trouble of moving it? Highly unlikely and quite unnecessary, considering that the Trans Am would have had Setsuna hearing it either way.

I also don't like how it saves Ali's life, but what can you do. At least it's really Marina's voice that stops Setsuna at first, which speaks to how she matters to him in a way. This is also the second time that Setsuna has had this experience, so I suppose he can be cut some slack also.

I didn't expect SyFy to keep the entire song through the ending credits, although I agree that this makes the eventual finale very worrying indeed.

The Memento Mori attack is still a spectacular action episode, I must say.

"Mr. Bushido": Will you be my worthy adversary?

What?! So all this time, he wants someone to be his awesome mecha rival. Apparently Graham went off the deep end after putting on that mask.

Darn it, Andrei lives again.

Darn it, he's like the Sumperman-Prime of the series! Every time he opens his mouth, my rage builRAB up!

Alright, Ribbons is an artificial being, who turned on his creators and wants to wreak havoc on the world. But it doesn't justify his bland personality or characteristics.

If they wanted to go for an artificial human, then they should have gone all the way to the extreme. Make Ribbons into something alien in a human shell. Make his thoughts so alien that no one truly understanRAB him. Give him a reason more than just wanting to play God. Make him an enigma wrapped in a puzzle. Make him do other things than just mope around on his couch.

The writers should us a reason to consider Ribbon's a worthy enough threat, so much that he deserves to take part in the climax.

EDIT: BTW, I realized that I should probably explain what I mean by "style". It means the characteristics of a villain that sums up his villainy. Dr. Evil has the over-the-top ham. Darth Vader is the Elite but brooding Evil Henchman. Micheal Myers is a force of nature that you can not stop. Thrawn is the mastermind who enjoys the intellectual delights and his reasons to fight is not as clear as it would appear.

Even then, these simple sentences cao no justice to explain who they are. There is other elements, some tangible, other not so much, that create that sense of antagonism. Villains should have such "Style" that matches the type of story it is set in, but should have such a strong feeling that he deserves to share the climax with the hero.

So the plan was to use CB as an excuse to unify the world, then use the Alaws to unite the world will, and then head out into space? Considering Ribbons is controlling this project, I wonder if this is really the plan. Or it has been radically changed.

Melina: "Quick question, are you two lovers?!"
Chris's replacement is alot more fun!

Ah, ZOrabIE LOCKON!

Wow, Feldt can really hold some hard grudges. Go Strand! Feldt>Lacus

So far, Lechie doesn't seem competent to even get coffee, let alone lead this forces. I'd be amazed if a good chunk of them weren't killed off because poor decisions by this guy.

WTH?! Patrick?! Partick's Alive!? But we saw him disappear in a bright blinding flash? And no scratches?

Patrick:"I've Come Back!"
From the dead?

Kati: "Oh no, its HIM."
My thoughts exactly.

On Tieria Moping:
Gee, Triera, did you ever consider that the Innovators might be lying?

Kati: "You'll have to fight the Gundams. You may end up dead."
Maybe more than a few episodes this time!

Collasar the Indestructible?
I wonder what they really call him behind Patrick's back.

An exclusive Federation party at Tom Crusie house!

Wow, so many episodes, and Semuragi has yet to dress like Britney Spears. A NEW RECORD!

I had to do a double-take on Tiera. He's quite well...um... endowed, and looks fine in a dress Not to mention he sounRAB great as a girl.

Why is Ribbons dressed up as the vampire Lestat? I guess it really is at Tom Crusie's mansion.

And what the heck was Havely wearing? Was she trying to look like a prostitute? Well, I guess losing one's diginty is a small price to pay to get an awesome MS.

So from the sudden flash, Lousie must be a Newtype.

During the dance scene, All I could think of was yelling "IT'S A TRAP!"

Just what the heck is Reginas gender? He, she? I'm confused.

Yeah, Ribbons is a real trusting fellow :sarcasm:

So Lousie has issues too. Wait, spoiled brat whos traumatized joins army to avenge parent's death. OMG, she's FLLAY!

Finally, Teiria figures it out. I do like his "Shut Up Hannibal" speech.

Billy: "You're from Celestial Being!"
Gee Setsuna, I guess announcing everyone's secret identity wasn't such a good idea after all.

Ribbons is truly evil, supporting the TeiraxLockon fanbase!

So Teria puts a pistol in his underhose. Ok, hes taking this Undercover thing a little too far...

Oh shoot, apparently Ribbons had budded off some oRABpring. I always knew his kind formed that way.

Oh, Regina turns out to be the Narrator? And wearing a suit no less.

While lacking in action, its an ok episode. A totally WTF episode, but still ok.

Feldt is 2-3 years younger than Setsuna. As for Marina, she was in her early 20s in season one. If you read the sidenotes it's explained that Setsuna views her as a mother figure, mainly because her voice is identical to his late mother. The dub sadly seems to have lost this subtle touch. Nice one, Ocean

Wait, there was time cuts?

Oh, that other Chick With the Glasses!

Officer: "Hello, I'm here to provide expository background information."

Ah, Soma, thou art the better incarnation of Fllay!
