Death Magnetic

Yeah, I'd greatly appreciate a link to that.
I'm close to using the retail version as a shooting ski.

Edit: The MeltingPot dude is acting like an arse in my opinion.

I've probably defended Metallica more than you have, but I am not going to sit here and ignore the flaws on Death Magnetic.
The music is genius, the production is utter crap. You don't have to be a sound technician to hear the problems on this album.

And I AM a sound tech, so it DEFINATELY does not sit well with me.
I am by NO means a pro, but I could have mixed this album better myself.
For one, I wouldn't have compressed the piss out of it and killed the dynamics of the music.

I enjoyed the album. It isn't my favorite. It seemed almost as if they were trying to hard to achieve the sound they had from "And Justice for All".

I disagree. The album was a good effort, and it shared many traits of their earlier works, you know back when they were good.

so it's an 8/10 for me. :finger:

Yeah i'm fairly impressed i have to admit. My Apocalypse is still the best track but all of them apart from The Unforgiven III hold up well i'd say. Time will tell but it's looking like it could be the best since Justice.

I hope it doesn't end up being another St. Anger, or anything like it. I'm happy that the band got rid of Bob Rock too.

The mission Metallica site is also a pretty neat Idea, and there is lots of stuff you can get from it.

That would be cool! I'd like to hear it at least and go from there - I happen to be quite partial to their older stuff, but I dunno, sometimes hearing a band rehash a sound from 20 years ago gets a bit much.... nevertheless it might be a catalyst for me to go out and buy some of their older albums, ya know? If that makes sense... I am kinda tired and half drunk tonight, so I am finding myself wondering if my posts make much sense...

....but I digress...

I'd love to receive a link!

I just found my "Garage Inc." CD...so as soon as I finish/get tired of re-listening to "Death Magnetic" for the...second time ever, I'm going to get my Breadfan on.

I only liked old Metallica. Kill Em All, Ride the Lightning, ...And Justice For All, and Master of Puppets. At that point the band just went to sh*t. By the way, I know a lot of people like the Black Album, but why? I personally thought it was pretty bad, couldn't even compare to their earlier stuff.

Just listened to the 1st single "The Day that never comes", and I liked it.their best song for almost 18 years....
it actually sounRAB like old Metallica songs put together but it's still pretty good
