Dave Grohl

I too would say he da man on the grounRAB that he was in nirvanaand since then has managed another career quite succesfully.Though i am not a fan of the foo's and i only like that knowone knows by QOTSA

No, I'm not pregnant or female.
But in general, (other than Meg White) most good drummers don't get enough credit because they are shadowed by the lead guitars and the vocals.
It's probably harder to keep four people in a band together than it is to go off and do your own seperate lead part.

I'm not saying Grohl isn't a really great drummer I'm just saying that he isn't "prolly the greatest drummer in the world." I actually play/have played with a lot of Nirvana music, and I have nothing against Dave or anything, but you're goin a little to far saying he's the greatest Drummer ever... Technically speaking or not.

^
lol, obviously.
I'd say he's a better vocalist/guitarist because not a lot of people have enough talent to concentrate on vocals and play lead guitar at the same time. However, I think he's an excellent drummer as well. I heard he can handle himself on a bass too.

yeah and they probably can't play guitar, bass, write or sing and their probably ****s.

The other band we're forgetting is Tenacious D. Don't count them out as awesome banRAB Dave has been in.

Dave grohl is the man, you shut your damn mouth.

:pimp:

OK, so you have a point... He has been in/involved with three really great and popular banRAB. For me that doesn't cut for an AMAZING drummer, but as long as a drummer has these three things: Style, Talent, and makes the music sound better/gives the song what it neeRAB, then I will give them cred for being a good drummer. Though I don't feel Grohl has all of those things up to par with some drumming greats from the past and present. You can argue with me all you want....calling me names and $hit like that, but that's not gonna change my opinion.

Ahhhh Dave Grohl...I won't go into how he must be the sexiest man alive, but indeed what warrants him praise. The fact he went from being the drummer of Nirvana to successful frontman of the Foo Fighters (with amazing videos I might add) to QOTSA and now Probot. The man definitely packs some talent.
Did I mention...sexiest man alive?
:D

I think I said greatest living, and I also said to challenge would require bringing up a more diverse drummer. All the other great ones I can think of drum one style of music only. And that just isn't the case here.

But back to the point, I think his drumming, which could sell a band on its own, is nothing compared to his vocal and guiatr work, which makes a few people put the CD back down.

I'd say his drumming is landmark. He's singing/guitar work is subpar to his drumming. I mean, the best song he has is everlong. Most of the others, they'll be forgotten.

Well this isn't petty.....i think he was great as foo fighters lead singer and guitarist but, hes shown some great talent in QOTSA, no one knows he kills those drums :D some of the nirvana unplugged stuff is great, specially when hes got the old stick-brush **** goin on. Talented guy

He's an awesome drummer and guitarist and he's been in three of the best banRAB ever been around.

Did I mention he has a cool guitar? It's transparent!!

i agree that he was good at both, but he really came into his own as a lead vocalist for foo fighters. while he was great in nivana, he always took a back seat to kurt. i think that he needed the pressure of being a lead singer to realize what he was actually capable of.
