Dave Grohl

Ok, someone asked me this the other day and I still cant figure out what I'd choose... Was Dave Grohl better as a drummer in Nirvana and QOTSA or as guitarist/vocalist in the Foos?

I think he was/is awesome in both, very multi-talented, which is a sign of a true musician. Whatcha think ?

^Not many people can create great album after great album, it's pretty hard. I'd still say the Foo Fighters are a good band though...

I still got the s/t, and color and the shape is probably somewhere on the floor. Honestly, I don't care what Dave Grohl has been doing since then. The last time I saw him was on some stupid award show with Bruce Springsteen performing "london calling". I was confused and slightly irritated. Why was I watching an award show?

i've seen dave's body of work so far, but i have to say he's most known as vocalist/guitarist for the foos'. dont get me wrong, i know the importance that he has had in nirvana and the QotSA, but most music listeners tend to identify most with lead singers. i dunno if that's rite or not, but that's how i see it.

Grohl is a brilliant drummer. The way he drove 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', and his work with the Foo Fighters. He must go down in music history as a versatile original artist.

Is it "Don't agree with a ****ing word i say" week? Playing drums is not hard, playing drums like Dave Grohl is much harder that playing guitar and singing like dave grohl. And Neil Peart maybe a better drumer than Dave Techinically, but this is like comparing Hendrix to that slug from Dream Theater, yes ones technically better, but he isn't better.

And to whoever said he has no influence on the track, no im sure he didn't write them, but if you wanna take out his drums and throw in a drum machine, you can see firsthand how much his presence matters to a song or not.

I think he is good at all three...but you left one talent out...He is a great songwriter...did ya know that that song My Hero was written for Kurt Cobain?
he is very cool.
and he was also a part of one of the most influential banRAB of the 90's.

It would be sweet if you could be less of a condescending ****. I like Danny Carey better personally, and I only mentioned Nirvana in the list of banRAB he was in. I never said that they were the basis for his greatness. I personally think on songs like "the road" and "no one knows" define him as a better drummer than his nirvana stuff. But again, you put worRAB in my mouth, be a ****, and feel good about yourself.

daves one of those musicians that can do it all, and do it all really good! I liked him the best as a drummer for Nirvana. i saw him play drums with Tenacious D, he was awsome.
