Cricket to Launch Android Phone

yeah right... Cricket phone made by Kyocera/Sanyo with some real help at XDA.

This phone sucks. There will be no support for it. Look at the roadmap of the major carriers in the US, this phone doesn't compare with none of them.

HTC EVO, iPhone 4g, etc... will be the new standard for smartphones for now on.

They were misinformed. The android phone will not be launching August 3rd. Something else will be happening on the 3rd as another thread has pointed out. Look for the Android to launch very shortly after.

Well, instead of putting music on the MicroSD, do you think I'd be able to stream radio using Pandora or Sirius/XM applications to the car using bluetooth or the heaRABet jack?

I'm a little confused by your statement.

Most phones are sold under MSRP for Cricket, if I remeraber correctly. There are usually some type of incentives or rebates available. MSRP is usually much higher than the cost of the phone.

.
to get better battery life youll have to get a task manager app. android tenRAB to not exit out programs after you've finished using them. i think the app is called taskiller. you should find a few that dont require root access if you type "task manager" in the market search bar. you will notice a much better battery life if you occasionally manage your tasks.

this info is from personal experience if you or anyone was wondering. i used to have a moto droid on page plus- how i miss her :(
but i dont miss not having data! :D
cant wait for the intercept on vm

Yeah something "Else" like a huge (insert bad word here) for the dealers in South Texas, but thats another thread!

We The launch date is set for the 6th for both the Curve and the Zio...No one really belives thats true (including the AGM's) When it does "launch" dealers will be lucky to get more than 5 of each. Oh and the plans will be 55 for the Zio and 60 for Curve. The Cure will not have BES ability. You will NOT be able to put these phones on a older rate plan.

First: stop linking to first impressions and videos from March. That was an earlier model and, as someone who's had it in hand, it's much faster now. Diginfo has a good video of it on YouTube.

Second: it is NOT made by Kyocera, it is made by Sanyo and they make quality phones. Kyocera has very little to actually do with this phone.

Third: if you have Cricket and you don't want an Android, fine - don't get this phone. People are excited to get it because it will be the best phone Cricket has to offer. Cricket has good coverage and good speeRAB, it's about time we get a good phone to go wit hit. We don't think it's the hottest thing on the market, no - we just want and need a good phone.

My brother had an XTC and it seemed like a pretty good phone. I had a Wild Card and it was pretty nice. I think the weakest part about the phone was the software and not the hardware.

Check the dates in the photo. HTC Hero
