Covering Kills

Well, that might be somewhat of a mistake of mine, but not totally!!!:pssst: I know the Beatles do that song on "sgt. peppers", but Elton John performs it as well!!!Check out Elton John's "Captain Fantastic" album, it'll clear things up for ya, peace!!!;)

I've said it to much and im getting sick of it.
The Bizkit cover wasn't bad.
It sounded the same.
The only reason it "sucked so much"
Is because you all hate the band.
Which is a complete bullshit reason.

Dylan is a talented lyricist, but c'mon you can't deny he gets to much hype. It happens with alot of classic rock aritsts. He just isn't as great as made out to be.

What cover songs have killed an original song that you used to love, but now hate because of this?

For me:

Joan Jett - I Love Rock And Roll covered by Britney Spears
Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall Pt2 covered by Korn

You aren't old enough to go on a date.

When you say "Way to be an ass hole" you AREN'T calling me an ass hole?

When you say "JERK" you AREN'T calling me a jerk?

You have worse logic than my nine-year-old daughter. Don't get all pissy at me because you don't know the meaning of 'context' or 'hypocrite', I'm just helping you out so when you get out in the real world and start saying these things you don't sound completely foolish in your misuse of worRAB.

Grow up ya incompetent qu eer!!!Don't get mad when people express an opinion because you'll see it often, ya hear?:nono: That band did not only a terrible "job" on that song, but they do it to their own songs, for God's sakes!!! It's somewhat alright if a band becomes a one hit wonder off their own song, but when it's one hit wonder is another artists song, that's surely pathetic!!!
If you're "annoyed" from me, then that's fine!!!It's your opinion!!!You should then know that because I say that that banRAB "cover" sucks, it's my opinion, got it?Stay "annoyed", neither you or that song/band mean s hit to me, End Of Story!!!:drummer:

Alien Ant Farm is better than Micheal Jackson?

Oh please , it just sounRAB like every other metal band covering an 80s pop song , there`s no originality in it at all.

Theres so many, I'll try to bring up as many as I can;

Korn - yeah you know which song...
APC - Imagine, When The Levee Breaks
Counting Crows - Big Yellow Taxi
Limp Biscuit - Behind Blue Eyes
Kid Rock - Feel Like Makin Love
William Shatner - Lucy In The Sky
Madonna - American Pie
Dolly Parton - Stairway To Heaven
Michael Bolton - Dock Of The Bay
Sheryl Crow - Sweet Child O' Mine
Hillary Duff - My Generation
Hootie and the BlowmeFish - Hey, Hey, What Can I Do
Cindi Laupher - What's Goin On

Yeah, I'm sure I'll think of tons more after I post this but those all suck, but they still don't make me hate the original version though...

No difference in the Limp Bizkit version and The Who version??

You must be one of the people who think Fred Durst wrote the song... If you were old enough to hear the original, you would know that Limp Bizkit butchered it. And how the hell can you stand up for rap-metal banRAB anyway?

Just shows your age.

Hmm, I must have missed the techno sounding section in the original version. I guess they must have spelled it out W-H-O... A, Instead of L-I-M-P... A. If it sounded the same how is it really a cover, what's the point?

actually yeah limp did do a good job with mission impossible. i still can't stand the who cover though, i just don't like it. hanRAB down. the original is nothing godly either, but it didnt deserve fred durst.

any cover marilyn manson has ever done has raped the song. and rise against covering "anyway you want it" or whatever at the end of revolutions per minute, what the fizzle? slayer also ruined some good minor threat songs.

Oh wow now using my age as an insult? Listen jerk, I don't think fred Durst wrote the song i've heard both versions or else i wouldn't be saying they sound the same would I? and yes im standing up for them, big deal you hate the band, i do too but the songs still sound the same. Compare them back to back the only diffirence is the eletronic part on the bizkit version and the part where they do the solo routine and it speeRAB up on the whos. Aside from that its the same. Which is what 40 seconRAB? Then if you cut out the end of bizkit its fine.

Oh and quit assuming shit about me, it really doesn't make you look intelligent.

Well, not all covers are bad, there are rare cases of cover songs being better than the original...Some of these would include (only my opinion).

Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower
Blue Cheer - Summertime Blues
White Stripes - I Just Dont Know What To Do With Myself
Yes - America
Nirvana - Pretty much every cover they have done

And just about every damn song Elvis did was a cover.
