Covering Kills

pop punkers covering rap. Hey we're white and wear tube socks up to our knee's. But we'll sing rap cause thats what you'll least expect.

No, thats what we most expect (simple plan, im looking at you). Want to suprise me? Write something that doesn't blow.

Also, folkies covering anything by another folie band. Howie Day, Ryan Carcrashia (sp?), insert WASPy name, do not cover any thing by Drab, U2, Guster, OAR, Dispatch, Tom Petty, or Sublime....eeeeeeever.

i like madonnas versiaon of american pie.. i think she did a prety good job with it.. but i don't think it beats the original by any means.. but i like the fact i can sing along with madonna's verison haha.. hmmmm

I don't think Manson kills other songs. His songs have that twisted dark feel to them and I quite like it.

The only crap cover he has ever done that I've heard is Another Brick In The Wall. He failed me with that. I think he took the completely wrong approach to the way he sung it. Far too soft, his scream is a weapon, he should have used it.

I agree with whoever said that at least Mansons covers aren't your same generic identical copy of the original.

Go home, kid. You don't need to call people names over an internet message board. You're letting everyone know how young you are, and it makes everything you say irrelevant.

I don't know what is wrong with you people who get angry and name-call when we start stating opinions.

Here's the thing, children, if someone states an opinion that is different from yours, and you have a discussion about it, there is no need for directly attacking! It's childish, it's stupid, and it makes what could possibly be a good point turn into something that no one respects because of your poor attitude.

I don't care if you're twelve years old. I don't care if you're forty years old. But for God's sake, don't act like you're two years old.

.

except i'm sure you weren't ruining it, any change to that song would be an improvement. Whoever mentioned madonna's cover of american pie is dead on, i think that has to be one of the worst covers in the history of music.

He deserves a good kick in the balls for covering Depeche Modes Personal Jesus.

And even worse for Gasp, AC/DCs Highway to Hell. O_O

btw, who do you guys think does worse AC/DC covers, Six Feet Under or Celine Dion?

I think what my furious friend is trying to say here is The Who:Limp Bizkit::Jefferson Airplane:Jim Carey in cable guy

The songs are diffrent yes, but theres nothing that was done diffrently on the whole. The voice is diffrent, and yes LB used speak and spell. Other than that, it was a direct copy. It was not, say

The Animals's House of the Rising Sun compared to Tracy Chapman's version which were completly diffrent aside from lyrics. And maybe it was if we count decipherability.

Oh, so you completely changed your opinion?

That was a few days ago...

Hey I think you're missing a bandwagon driving by! Better jump on quickly.

Have you been listening to Highway 61, or Blonde on Blonde, or Freewheelin' or Blood On The Tracks or Bringing It All Back Home lately? Your opinion of Dylan changed like night to day.

:( Dylan's version rules, especially live, he changes the lyrics for the better to. The studio lyrics are:

Mama, take this badge off of me
I can't use it anymore.
It's gettin' dark, too dark for me to see
I feel like I'm knockin' on heaven's door.

The live lyrics are so good:

Mama wipe the blood off of my face
I can't see through it anymore.
I need someone to talk to and a new hiding place,
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door.

How dare you badmouth dylan...

Thats what convinced me that the guitarist for LB is the worst guitarist ever, they copy the song note for note, except they leave out the awesome guitar solo and replace it with speech and spell, it isnt even a hard guitar solo, in fact its simple as hell.

Avril Lavinge- Chop Suey

AND KASHMIR: THER IS NO NEED FOR TO YOU TO POST HERE...I'LL ANSWER FOR YOU

KORN: ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL

please.....spare us from another one of your ****ing classic rock was ruined by a new band rants

Manson added his own twist to personal jesus and thats just him, he made it sound like a Manson song, not just a generic copy cat cover which i think is nice, even if im not big on manson anymore. Same goes with tainted love.
