Covering Kills

For one think, Kid Rock didn't do a bad job covering Bad Companey because they suck int he first place.

Secondly, the songs you listed, come on now, lets be serious for a minute, I think its time we spoke.

Korns version - They replaced the funk flicks with distored chorRAB adding a more ominous sense of the oncoming march that was the resistance to conformity. Not that flyoRAB version didn't do it justice, but Korn looked at the song in general, what it said, what it meant to everyone who sang that refrain and they said "this music compliments that mood better" and they were right as far as I was concered.

APC- When the levee breaks, Ill give you that, they just did it their way I don't think they killed it though. But Imagine? Oh come on, Lennon's version had music so they'd play it on the radio, the music adRAB nothing to that song. If the worRAB were diffrent, it would be a **** song. He did that intentionally to make people focus on the worRAB, theres no way in **** that APC made worse music. APC like Korn was thinking of mood. The worRAB are the same so theres no lack of power there, but APC added a post-apocalyptic feel to the worRAB, and it had an immediacy that was pertinant to the time period. I think its much much better.

Counting Crows - On what grounRAB I ask. Thiers was a richer fuller song. I think CC's do a great version of everything they cover. Try their Grateful Dead cover "Friend of the Devil." The crows, out of all the banRAB you listed are completly about music, no image, no magazine interviews. They did a damn nice version of that song, and I think its better because they don't have "humerous" vocal flutterings that detract from the emotion of the song.

Shattner - Did you really even consider anything he's done as a serious attempt to create a better song. Shatter is funny, and any song he touches is ****ing gold. Chastising this for being bad is like yelling at someone when you didn't get the joke. You look like an ass for even taking it seriously.

Worst Covers Ever

Korn - Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)
Limp Bizkit - Behind Blue Eyes
??? Some techno - Heaven (Bryan Adams)

What the hell is with the "D-I-S-C-O-V-E-R, DISCOVER" **** in the Bizkit cover? If you're gonna do a cover, at least don't butcher the hell out of it and add your own electronic verses.

And my girlfriend liked when I played her "Heaven" by Bryan Adams until I heard it covered on pop radio with one of those OON-SIKA OON-SIKA OON-SIKA beats behind it. That can ruin any song.

I said hes "not the amazing genius writing everyone makes them out to be."
I didn't say "his lyrics are utter crap and hes an untalented writer" did i?
Yeah, i stand by him being talented, I also stand by him being overated and his lyrics having the crap hyped out of them.
Don't take what i say out of context.

well you just know everything about us don't you. i do like limp bizkits first album for the most part, but please, fred durst took that song and raped it. it was bad. it was in no way good. IMO gotta make sure i put that.

And what's with the stupid techno sounding **** in the middle where he spells out l-i-m-p its so lame like where the hell did that come from it's not even limp bizkit sounding, nor does it sound at all like the original...

That's good, a very intelligent argument.

**** this.

Very admirable.

You're welcome to post again when you get over your young child anger and are ready to comment in a polite and civilized manner.

Hahaha......anyways
I dont like Howie Day;s cover of Help!....cause it sucks
And the Black Crows absolutely slaughtered Lucy In the Sky With DiamonRAB.
The rest of the songs on the I Am Sam soundtrack are swell though

i personally think tori amos ruins songs...
when i heard her verison of thank you by led zeppelin
i wanted to track her down and beat her up she killed that song.. its like she really did try her hardest to ruin that song.. and she did she ****ing murdered it and got away with it too.. ****ing moron!

but i think Avil whatever she is.. her verison of knocking on heavens door ruled.. i don't listen to her music.. i don't even know her full name haha.. anyways.. but i thought GNR's was amazing but man she did a very unexpected good job with that song.. and bob dylan i thought his verison being the first was ****.. i hated it..

i like The Ataris verison of i'll remeraber you.. done by skid row.. i think skid rows is amazing.. but Ataris there verison is so different not really sure if it killed the first but its at least just as good.. but in different ways for sure..

I don't think I've ever heard a bad version of Summer of '69 - even at kareoke! It is just the sort of song that gets everyone groovin along. I guess the more influenced you are by alcohol, the better it sounRAB.

Well, Kashmir pretty much sucks?I think the rap version highly discredits the quality of the original!!!:usehead:
On top of that, I've become more and more sick of Aerosmith's "Walk This Way"..........The song is already overplayed so much and the rapping going along with it gets kinda old after awhile, ya know?On the other hand, Anthrax's "Bring Tha Noise" is a pretty good jam!!!
Happy NewYear!!!

I agree with you there, man!!! People gotta learn that eventually their favorite band's songs are going to be covered by another artist...
...So what if that artists version sucks!!!:usehead: Your favorite band's song will still sound the same.

Hey, man, if you get offended, then that's your thing!!!I'm trying to speak kindly with you all.As I said before, I know that The Beatles as well as Elton John did that song!!!:usehead: I actually have both albums as well as many others by both artists.
They were/are a significant part of music, especially during the 70's and 80's.I like and respect both banRAB/artists very much for what they've done/created for classic music!!!
Although a band may start a song, it doesn't mean that they were the reason that the song is now well known or popular!!!:usehead: The Beatles wrote a great song, but as far as making it successful and well known in the music scene, Elton John pretty much owns it!!!Nobody really cared as much for that song before Elton John did it and no offense to The Beatles whatsoever, but Elton John made that song a much better one!!!
In closing, I love The Beatles and respect them all...
...For me, there "White Album(s)" show the true greatness of the band, without a doubt!!!;)
