That's good enough for me. Obviously the people supposedly involved deserve the presumption of innocence, blah blah blah, but that's more than enough evidence to say the list was illegally obtained.

Was this sarcasm?

I mean, I'm pretty confident it had to be a state employee -- someone with access to that information -- who did the deed, but I don't see evidence in that article that it was these two people.

If I had to guess based on my time working for the state I'd suppose that a cursory glance at the access histories of these two individuals' state database profiles would indicate that they'd accessed the files.

I'm not defending these people by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm just checking: was that your deadpan face or no?

I heard there were people who voted for Obama just in the hope that someone will take a pot-shot at him. This "right to vote" lark still needs a bit of work on it.

I guess I'm just having a hard time thinking of reasons why anybody other than a medical care provider, insurance provider, etc. would need to track someone's due date. Probably because I've never been pregnant.

Right. in our case, it's because we have X clients and Y resources, and seldom is Y > X. So if Client 1 is due in a month, and Client 2 is due in three weeks, I know that in two weeks I better have two cribs and two car seats for them. (The hospital won't even let them leave without a car safety seat for the newborn!)

But if Client 3 isn't due for eight weeks, I can relax on the pressure of getting a third set in, and hope that donations come along in the meantime. I won't spend precious cash if i don't have to, and managing our cash flow is kinda key to our survival.

ETA: I say "I," as though I'm actually doing all that work. I'm a board member, so my actual participation is somewhat removed from the day-to-day, but I'm also the corporate treasurer, so the finances do involve my general purview...

Sorry, Laudenum [sic], it's almost time for me to head home--too late to try to explain things to a retard who's just going to ignore everything, anyway.

WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN

SERIOUSLY FUCKING GOD DAMMIT EXPLAIN WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT because I sure as hell can't figure it out.

Unless you mean "disfavored" simply in the sense of "there will still be no single ethnic group in the U.S. larger than the great conglomerate of white folks."

I'm white. I was born in the U.S. My entire family going back for generations was born in the U.S. (I think you have to go back to at least great-great-great grandparents before you hit anyone who wasn't, and that would be a man who emigrated from Ireland during The Hunger.) I'm descended from the first white male born in the Wisconsin Territory, even. None of my friends living in the U.S. are here illegally and I can only think of one who isn't a citizen (he's French and a permanent resident); none of my friends outside the U.S. have any desire to move here.

Try again, you racist shitstain.

Further notes: I don't care what you claim for yourself--I care about what your words demonstrate. And there are plenty of people who voted for Obama who still call him a nigger--you wanna try to tell me they're not racist, too?

Of course you are.

I never for one moment thought that you were a lieing pathetic piece of
filth trying to pass yourself off as something you are not .

Honestly.

Little shits like you defeat your own cause.

You really. really are the most pathetic expressions of those you would wish to represent .

I know African Americans are the future.

Nasty gutless, drunk, pieces of total filth like you aren't.

Try growing up,try being an adult.

And you MIGHT, just MIGHT get some respect instead of being considered a sad little druggie who hits the bottle as well.

Fuck off you sad little vagina.
Talk to me when you've grown a pair of balls.

You pathetic sad little diaper wearer.

(Sorry to interrupt the flaming, but have they caught the people who did this yet?)

Sort of. They (think they) know who did it and have terminated one and moved to begin termination proceedings on the other, pending a hearing.

Story here.

Yeah ARIZONA. Yeah UTAH.

What is up with all the fucking racists coming out of the woodwork on this board recently?

And then, with a mighty effort that could be seen in the muscles and veins on his neck tightening, threatening to burst, and his tongue pushing out of his mouth toward his ear, Shot From Guns achieved his goal and dialed up the stupid beyond 11, reseting the bar for humanity at 12.

Newsflash: wanting to control illegal immigration

Stupid question -- if you're an illegal alien, how would you have a sosh #?

Lots of people currently without legal status used to have legal status that expired, or for which they otherwise no longer qualify (student or employment visa, former spouse of someone in a legal category or of a U.S. citizen, etc.) The SS# doesn't disappear just because the person is no longer authorized to work in the U.S. - it sticks with the person forever, and if they later legalize, their earnings will be credited to the same SS#.

1.) Please provide an accurate description of the entire process of legal immigration. Please also provide an estimate of how likely it would be to succeed as unskilled labor.

2.) Please provide statistics on the average amount of services that non-documented workers in the U.S. receive versus how much they pay in taxes, including sales tax. Please also provide statistics on the difference between average income, both in wages/salary and benefits, for an undocumented worker versus one who is in the country legally.

1. No. There are people legally becoming citizens every day of the week, so there indeed exists some system to become a legal naturalized citizen. You know there is. I know there is. Finding this information for all to see is pandering to your attempt at argument.
2a. No. It doesn't take a rocket genius to figure out that non documented (read: non-tax-paying) workers cost the system undue expenses. Every hear of an anchor baby? Who paid for the birth of that baby? When the workers get hurt on the job, and go to the hospital, who do you think pays for that? Do I need to go on?
2b. No. Wage statistics for undocumented workers? Oxy-moron.

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
Unless they're Mexican

Ah, yes. The Lazarus Doctrine.

Well, America has changed a bit since President Lazarus proclaimed that pos...

...Hey, wait a second! Emma Lazarus was never our President. She wasn't even in Congress. She, in fact, held no Cabinet positions, no elected offices in federal government, and had absolutely no power to define national policy.

So howabout stopping the inane practice of quoting her poetry as though it were part of the freakin' Constitution?

Yeah, I always wonder why people suspect racism when immigrants are called invaders and characterized as coming to take your nice house from you.

Someone who uses terms a hair's breadth away from racism, I have no problem believing they're racists.

Of course, YOU won't be able just "digest that fact" without a noxious belch, I'm sure.

But the vast majority of people wishing to immigrate are in fact from different ethnic groups. Any restriction will affect them disproportionately to the majority of white Anglo-Saxon Protestants already in the United States. It's true that, compared to each other, they may be equalled disfavored. Compared to the majority group within the United States, ALL of them will be disfavored.

Got it! I was misunderstanding your point.

Especially when it turns out that the folks are not necessarily illegal in any sense of the word.

The problem here is that at least some of the adults on the list and all of the children listed are not law-breakers and 'Media Outlets' are not relevant authorities.

Personally, I'm against some assclowns illegally publishing a list of 1300 names, WITHOUT BOTHERING to figure out that the list was inaccurate, and that some people on the list were, in fact, legal residents.

I hope they get their asses sued off, for their ILLEGAL actions that harmed the reputations of LEGAL immigrants.

All three of you have uncritically and wholeheartedly accepted the idea that the list contains inaccuracies.

So far as I can tell, here is the evidence for that belief:

Two women on the list who were contacted by The Salt Lake Tribune said they are in the country legally. One said she recently became a permanent legal resident.

Of course, I have no idea what evidence was used to compile the list in the first place. But I find it interesting that you uncritically accept the idea that the list publishers are criminal, but accept without any skepticism the uninvestigated and self-serving denials of two people that were contacted by the paper.

Nor is it clear how the conclusion that "all of the children" are not illegally present is reached.

WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN

SERIOUSLY FUCKING GOD DAMMIT EXPLAIN WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT because I sure as hell can't figure it out.

Look, a goat can't differentiate a quadratic equation. It's not the goat's fault. Stop worrying about it, would be my advice.
