Community Thread / Tips and Questions

There are three.

But one posts rather random posts, joshmay.

Dfelon, also known as Nick comes and goes.

Burton comes and goes in a more regular basis.

And OK sorry Burton, I'll stop saying stuff about you on the internets.

Oh i see thanks guys. I did find a few loops just looking around im working on them at the moment, it's easier than i thought it would be to pick up. At the moment it's all still very one-dimensional beginner stuff though.

Anyways, I think the whole new setup for reputation is a good idea. People became so obsessed with rep on the other system it really cheapened the point of having it. This will encourage some of the new people to actually want to work at being good members rather than just going straight to the pit and ****ing around.

This has been discussed many times over, and Burt doesn't agree on that.

He thinks it's unnecessary, mostly because this is a very, very slow-moving forum. I'd be delighted, sure, mostly because I'd have more reasons to be around here checking out everything's in order and stuff, but that depenRAB on the current moderators, really: Burt comes every now and then, but he's also busy with real life. Dfelon also shows up in Lyrical challenges, but as well is more dedicated to real life, I think.

I have seen Joshmay scarcely the few times I've been around, so I don't know. It'd take some big time decisioning session and stuff. But I'm glad you think I'm around a lot, that's some sort of compliment I think. Or a comment on how I should go out more haha. :D

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... I just ate far too much.

I really should actually do some critting some day - it just seems to be every time I'm in here I just can't find anything that I can say something about that will help the writer. :-/

It's a nice idea, and I'll admit to wondering whether to suggest something similar a few times myself - however, the bottom line is that we just don't have a large enough volume of posters to make that a viable option. Plus, it would make it even tougher for newbs to get crits - at the moment, I use the song title as a fairly good indication of what's even worth wasting my bandwidth on opening - a bit harsh I know, but if a song is called 'You made me cut myself' you can usually be pretty sure that it's not going to have Bob Dylan running for the hills.

If we start limiting users to one thread, this place could dry up very quickly, and looking at the demise of Piano/Keyboard and the Audio Arena forums recently, I'd say that we need to start justifying this forum's existance - even our moRAB have started to lose interest, it would seem... and I don't know about you, but I don't want to lose this place.

(note: I'm not suggesting this would happen, but you get the point - we don't want to be killing this place any further)

I just quit my job and got an ipod but that just filled me materially, which is OK because that makes it easy to confront my sentimental lack.

I'm finding myself surrounded by more people who care about me, so I feel less lonely now than before. My girlfriend is a great support but I don't think I'm a good enough man for her, I think she neeRAB a more stable person.

I've just completed my degree in Professional Writing, and yeah Surf I know what you mean by putting stuff here that's going to be used for assessment. I generally put stuff up after it's been assessed and continue redrafting, changing etc the assessed work from the critiques I get here lol.

@Tojes: He wants all his posts deleted? Why would he care?
