"Classic" films you've never seen

now that IS scary...such an odd shaped head....!
So! Looking forward to the oscars on sunday? Any betting tips for me? (that is if you are a gambling person!!)

Some Like It Hot - brilliant comedy film - just love the ending with Jack Lemmon and Joe E. Brown in the boat. Billy Wilder certainly knew how to direct Marilyn.

Citizen Kane - another brilliant film - directed and produced by Orson Welles who also took the lead role. Think it was his first film as director, and I think he was "out in the wilderness" at the time i.e. he didn't conform to Hollywood's thinking.

The Godfather - never liked this mainly, as someone has said, as I could never understand what Marlon Brando was saying.

African Queen - always loved this film - and I think a great adaptation of C. S. Forester's book. Bogart got an Oscar for Best Actor for this.

Wizard of Oz - a lovely frothy, silly film, which I just love. I adore the Munchkins.

North by North West - think this and Strangers on a Train are two of Hitchcock's best thrillers. Brilliant shots when Grant is out on the prairie and having to run for his life through the maize fielRAB. As for a re-make of Strangers on a Train is this really happening? I honestly don't think they will ever better the original.

I've never sat right the way through a Chaplin film - for some reason I just do not find him funny.

well, you know I havent been to view his grave or anything but I have a lot of books, dvRAB, posters etc.
I just think he is fantastic. And the one wife he truly loved was killed and taken away from him when she was so young.

ET (never appealed to me at all)

Citizen Kane (Seen clips. Again, it never really appealed. Is it really that good, or is there a lot of Emperor's New Clothes bandwagon-jumping with this movie?!)

I think it is one of the best films ever made. A lot of it has to do with the direction and cinematography, but I found the story very interesting as well. The corrupting influence of power and how money cannot buy the things that matter-Love, frienRABhip, happiness.

However, may do disagree and see it more as an historical artefact rather than a genuinely entertaining film

Fight Club - I will be seeing this film shortly

Citizen Kane (i havnt even seen clips of this film)

Runaway Bride (i know its not really a classic, but i would love to see this movie its with richard gere and julia roberts, some people think its a sequel to pretty woman)

Godfather all 3 parts (i tryd to watch part 1, but it nearly put me to sleep, but i might watch it one day just to see why its in the http://www.imdb.com/chart/top top 250 chart.

Pride and Predijuice (I have never seen any of the remakes or the original films, and i dont even know what the story is)
