"Classic" films you've never seen

No, I have a problem with Westerns too. Its the only genre which I can say I don't really like. As soon as I see horses, deserts, men riding horses through deserts etc etc to me it just seems like they remade the same film a million times so that it could be shown in mid-afternoon on telly during weekdays when no one is watching.

Having said that, I did enjoy the Clint Eastwood movie Unforgiven and Butch Cassidy is a fun film...but then those are considered atypical Westerns. Back to the Future Part 3 is great though!

ET (never appealed to me at all)

Casablanca

Gone With The Wind (gave up part way in. Vivien Leigh had more ham than a Danish abbatoir - AWFUL!!)

The Wizard Of Oz

Any of James Dean's 3 movies

The Godfather triolgy (have them all on DVD waiting to be watched)

Citizen Kane (Seen clips. Again, it never really appealed. Is it really that good, or is there a lot of Emperor's New Clothes bandwagon-jumping with this movie?!)

Easy Rider

The African Queen

Casablanca
Citizen Kane
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - not entirely sure this rates as a classic, but I've never seen more then 5 minutes of it.
Scarface

Looking at earlier posts, has anyone actually seen Citizen Kane

All Star Wars, Rocky, Rambo, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Godfather, Matrix films.

Shawshank Redemption.
Raging Bull
Dirty Harry

spring to mind.

Citizen Kane (tried but fell asleep after 30 mins)

the Godfather films

The Wizard of Oz

are the first ones to come to mind.... although a safe estimate would probably be about 90 per cent of the films mentioned in the film history course I've been doing recently
