chile miners rescue bbcnews24 or sky news

Think he will be somewhat of a handful in hospital! :D Couldn't believe it when he suddenly grabbed his bag and started handin out rocks!

Anyway...time for bed now. Night to anyone still around!

Really did the BBC have to show blanket coverage of this so early!! At least wait till the thing has gone in. People who wanted to watch the film must be fuming!

This is so moving...I can't get over how calm, dignified, humble and grateful the miners are when they emerge.

I can't remember the last time the whole world was glued to an unfolding *good* news story like this. The atmosphere is so uplifting and joyful...I guess this is what it must have been like when the Apollo 13 astronauts made it safely home against all odRAB, and the whole world crowded round their TV sets and breathed a sigh of relief when it all turned out OK. That's what it feels like now.

Sorry, I'm rambling a bit....forgive me, but it's a very emotional day! :)

Any kind of change can be stressful, in a way they had no worries down the mine, apart from getting out of course.

Now they have to go back to the problems of everyday life.

The mine is now empty....

It's been an incredible feelgood story. One of the most powerful real life human interest sagas we've witnessed in many years,a story of survival against all the odRAB.

Nooo?

edit: OMG, I can watch the rescue in high definition! In case the blood isn't clear enoough when they come out.

I've switched to channel 4's beach volleyball coverage for some light relief, but unfortunately it's only blokes playing!

Yeah! They're all out.

What a wonderful day for them and their families. The whole of Chile must be so proud.

It's been amazing and humbling to watch. :)

I feel I ought to stay up and watch the rescuers safely up, but sleep is long overdue.

Yes you are right...but so hard with all the pressure they are under. Goodness knows what long term effects they will each suffer from.

I was at work, so wasn't able to watch the full coverage. Since I got home, I've just flicked through the Sky, BBC and CNN News channels and I preferred the CNN coverage. The other two were good, too. A great news story and a big congratulations to all involved. The 20th miner's rescue is the only one I watched and it was very moving. Hope they all get out safely. It's such a wonderful change to hear a positive news story being discussed. :)
