chile miners rescue bbcnews24 or sky news

One more to go, must be lonely down there all by yourself.
Hope he has no problems getting back up - lol.

He has nobody to close the doorr.

It's only really over when he is safe.

Oh my God! Repetitive:mad:? To each and every miner and their family and frienRAB, it is far from repetitive. Yes I am watching. I feel compelled to. Willing the rescuers on their way.

Quite eerie that he is down there alone now with it having been a home for 33 people for two months.

It will be very poignant when he starts the journey up alone and the mine will be empty for the first time.

I was timing...it took 15 mins to get the capsule down...so it could be two an hr if all goes to plan...17 hrs to get them all out. I would imagine some will need to be treated / sedated before they ascend.

was a real good walk that Tim did, if any other presenter had done that they would have been pissed off when the clown put the hat on their head.
Tim took it all in good humour.... he has really been under used and neeRAB to be out of the studio more.

whenever a presenter even george or Huw for example wear casual clothing and out of the studio you see the real person and much more people friendly, but as soon as they wear suits and ties they more wooden.

One thing a clever TV tech could do would be to work out an approximate depth gauge for the winch. Simply monitor the rotations of the big winch wheel. About 15 feet per revolution I'd guess.

Surprised they don't have Davina there: "You are about to be evicted from the mine. Don't swear. You are live on TV. Here are some of your highlights..."

Sadly some of these miners' lives will have been changed for the worse by this experience and they will probably have flashbacks and nightmares for years to come.

But it's just as likely others will change for the better and see their life through new eyes and as a new beginning.

Hopefully the badly affected ones get all the neccessary emotional help.

The thing that comes out of all this for me is how precious life is : every single human being's life is very important and means something.I think that is why this is a story that has resonated around the world.

Ha ha ha! Someone gave no. 27 a signed football when he emerged, and he did a bit of keepy-uppy. And proceeded to hug just about everybody in the camp.

The pyschologist on Sky News makes the very interesting point that some of the miners may be missing the mine and may even feel a sense of mourning that they are no longer down there.

I've only read the first page of this thread and, call me old fashioned, but I found the posts to be sickening. There are people and times to take the piss out of, but I dont find this one of them. What's wrong with tearing Jordan and Paris Hilton to bits? They ask for it.
I've been incredibly moved by the unfolding story, I hate 24 hour rolling news, to watch Sky for nigh on 45 minutes and that was the ONLY story covered makes a mockery of their remit to provide NEWS.Overkill is alive and kicking.

But I still find the page 1 posts horrible. I apologise if the following 5 pages have been more mature, it's just unfathomable to me that people can be so fascetious over a life and death situation.

I wonder how they'd feel if they'd been 69 days trapped half a mile underground? It's as offensive to me as jokes against Irish/black people were in the 70's. Back then people thought they were funny too. :(
