I like to see the good in the worst of places and people and situations
but thanks for your side of the story.

I'll post a review over in .eats later tonight or tomorrow. I know
you don't mind a little drive so if it's good I'll tell you. I went
there today and talked to people leaving after lunch and they couldn't
say enough good things about it. The online reviews were so-so.
Mainly about the service. We'll see how it goes.

Steak houses were always good date restaurants years ago.
As for Ruth's Chris- I've been there about 4 times. The cost isn't
terribly unreasonable for a good meal, but you order (pay) for your
desired side dishes separately from the steak.
I love a good steak and all that but it can be a bit too much meat for
me at times.

And yet my first wife, who was from Chicago, said it was the only
place where you could get a good thin crust pizza. This was in the
early 70's. By the time I got to go, it was thick crust
everywhere.

I've always wanted to try a sweet thin flaky crust baked, topped
with cottage cheese, vruit and a drizzle of maple syrup. A
breakfast pizza ;-)

Almost 2 years ago. I found the soggy crust (cornbread?), almost
inedible, the sauce bland and there was just too high a cheese to
sauce ratio. That same trip we had the nicest breakfast buffet at the
Hotel IC, and we took the buses to Pilsen (we were carless because we
took the Amtrak) where we ate at Sabas Vega, another treat.

you just throw those wooden plates into the dishwasher when they're

And why are you the only one who doesn't have properly sharpened

the metal inserts.

These are all rhetorical question, BTW. You can't possibly have any

Yep. A trip down Archer Ave. takes you through Asian, Mexican, Polish

Yes, Ruth's Chris is a chain. I stayed at a hotel once that had one and
every one who treated me to a meal picked that place. It got kinda old,
lol.
I'd rather go to a local special restaurant than a chain, as long as it
was as good! Ruth's Chris is good for a very traditional steak meal.

I love a good thick-crust pan pizza, but it's not the same. And
for an equivalent level of eating satisfaction, it's a lot of carbs.
It also takes a long time to bake (one place I went to in Chicago,
Gina's warned you your pizza will take 45 minutes and it did).
