Cartoons Today that Rot children's brains

Well I'm not surprised on what show got #1. lolz

Funny how most of them are the shows that CN airs (or has aired).
Not one from Nick?

Whoever made that list must be a CN-hater, yesh.

I disagree. There were many shows on there that are indeed bad, but there are many that I think are okay. Also I thought that Jake Long and Winx have a sizable teenager/adult fanbases.

Eh, some of the shows on this list aren't great, I'll give ya that, but I don't think they're all so terrible that they can't be watched, either. Winx Club, Super Hero Squad and Johnny Test could all be much better, but they have their moments and are at least OK to sit through in a "check your brain at the door" way.

Also in defense of Test, the show's first season's animation was actually pretty good, and it has some elements (Johnny's role-reversed parents and Dukey the dog)-which Dexter doesn't have.

I'm in total agreement on the author's assessment of The Proud Family, though. The hateful characters and mean-spirited behavior were an immediate turn-off for me. Yes, Oscar could be kind of a jerk, but he got dumped way too much. I had to stop watching the show due to its' excessive meanness.

I laughed a bit at the conversation regarding Brave and the Bold in the comments section.

I nearly laughed as hard then as I did when I saw Super Friends and He-Man mentioned as "good" kids shows, then started on a list of cartoons from today that whoever wrote this came up with. Maybe my sense of humor is a bit darker than most in that regard, though.

That was an honest list especially that yugi-oh 5D garbage. I saw one episode of that and saw the motorcycle battle and thought " They must be trying to freshen the show" but now that I know they do this all the time it's like Nightboat. But Proud family hardly airs anymore so it shouldn't even been on here, not to mention most of his reasons for bashing don't hold water not everyone was mean on there and aside from Oscar everyone learned lessons or got their come-uppance at one point. But aside from all that it was true

They're tuding it, with da duelists takin over their turf, ridin' on their rides avoidin' everything, ya dig? That show is just a mess of GTA\Need for Speed stuff with motorcycle racing thrown in for no real reason other than to please kids. Most of these cartoons I wouldn't say make kids dumb, in fact most of these aren't that bad (I have not seen Winx club). Heres a list of what I think of for the rest and if its not metioned in my list I have not seen it.

3D Garfield: Blah, gimme the old one!
American Dragon: Like Juniper Lee it was drawn flat and stank!
Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5: "They defeated us with maatthh", average and quite similar to Speed Racer Next Generation, just gimme Heroes on Hot Wheels will ya?
Johnny Test: Meh, Johnny Quest was better, Test just feels dated gag-wise and the designs are as flat as usual.

I am not so surprised that Johnny test is the first thing on the list, but then again CN is dumb enough not to see that its a clearly a knock off on one of their own shows. Btw a little word of advice to the guy who made the list not all Canadian cartoons are bad, I think EENE is good out of the the Canadian toons{I got nothing against people who like other Canada cartoons besides eene}.

Besides what else is on the list Ive on this list here, and I thought John K had problems when it came to criticizing cartoons.

While I don't care much for Johnny Test, I don't think that's a very fair comparison as Jonny Quest is a different show entirely. But to each of their own.

The list was okay, but I just felt like there were worse cartoons out there like Squirrel Boy or The Cramp Twins.

I spoke my peace over there about FOP.

BTW, you might want to put a language warning for that link (when let off of my leash, I can be a real potty mouth).

Meh, out of the 10 shows listed, I'm not a fan of two of them, Proud Family and Casper Scare School. Proud Family is a show that does insult my intelligence, while Casper, it's a pretty bland show.

I actually gave SHS a chance and I think it is enjoyable, sure nothing I would go out of the way to buy a DVD for, but something I would watch if there was nothing else on. 5D still holds up as my favorite YGO spin-off. Jake Long... what are you doing on the list? Johnny Test, hit or miss for me with mostly misses. Everything else I haven't watched in full detail.

Thank you, thank you! At first, I thought the whole list was a hit and miss. Some I agree and some I didn't. But, after reading the number cartoon thats making kids rot young kids mind, I agree. No, I really agree. I know that show supose to be a comedy show, but, its not that smart. Make it, THE CARTOON DOES NOTHING BUT YELL! YELL! Thats it, YELLING! SCREAMING! Thats all.

Don't really like any show on that list, so I'm not going to lose sleep over it. Though to be fair, I can think of plenty of shows far worse than Winx Club, 5D's and Jake Long, so they seem kinda odd compared to the rest of the stuff on that list.

Someone needs to do research on Chaotic...it actually has three seasons now instead of two. Plus they didn't really mention the fantasy-world aspect of the show, which is where it exceeds the norm with some pretty intriguing plots now and then.

I fraking love Yu-Gi-Oh! Then again I grew up with it. The thing is it really isn't that bad, especially, in comparison to other card playing shows out there (Where's Bakugan on this list?) I know the entry on this list is about 5D's which is definitely worse than Duel Monsters, but they also throw in a swipe at the series including the fact that the CCG "sucks". Not every card game is Magic: The Gathering. But, Yu-Gi-Oh! isn't a "crappy CCG" by any means. It's simple compared to others, but that makes more easy to play.

I agree with the rest of this list though, which is probably why I'm complaining.

Two words: NERD RAGE!!!

Seriously saying that 75% of the plots of Johnny Test are reused from Dexter?! What? 75% of Dexter happens in his frickin' lab or house! Johnny is smarter than Deedee too.

I take slight at the insult toward Canadian animation.

Normally I like stuff on Topless robot but this list is just the same old trollish comment we see here. Its nothing new and its frankly boring.

That was a pretty good list, thanks for sharing that! Of course a cartoon is a cartoon, some corporate people figured out, and a kid will watch a show even if it's "check your brain at the door" kind of crap.

I do agree that Johnny Test has its moments (I loved the Tom and Jerry themed episode :p) but it deserves to be number 1. Hands down. Also, I always thought that Johnny Test reused plots from multiple shows, and not just Dexter's Lab. How they reused materials from Dexter's Lab is the most obvious though.

I can't completely wrap my head around why Jake Long was there though. I kind of liked the weird and crazy new designs they had in the second season! I also didn't notice that it was Flash animation.... On the topic of Juniper Lee, I hated Ray Ray, he was way too excited for my taste. Plus his design also was weird... that hair of his. Gosh.

Also 5Ds and Winx should be there. The terrible Squirrel Boy and My Gym Partner's a Monkey either have an interesting animated style (Squirrel Boy) or a clever (even if poorly executed) original concept (Gym Partner). The article explains why 5Ds or Winx are not clever nor are they original concepts. I'm sure that 5Ds and Winx can have some great moment writing wise, but the premise of both shows are either already done or just stupid... for lack of better words. Although, I'm sure that they do beat out other shows in the animation category (any one remember Pet Alien?).
