Cartoons Today that Rot children's brains

The new garfield is too nice. None of the sarcasm or satire or 4th-wall breaking of garfield and friends, and though i respect frank welker, his garfield sounds too depressed half the time.

Bad list is bad.

He doesn't explain anything about the shows, only that they suck because it's either too complicated, in 3D, or Flash, never going in depth about the actual shows.
 
The Boondocks is pretty awesome, and it's one of the few DVD's I own of cartoons made in this decade. The Secret Saturdays and Archer really grew on me as well.

Obviously, I'm going to have less of a inclination to watch CN and Nick as i'm growing older, but that doesn't necessarily reflect the quality of the shows.

I agree. That was part of the issue I had with this list. I thought that the person who made this list was a girl, but in any case, she doesn't really focus on the actual shows. Based on the language that's used, such as claiming that one will feel the brain oozing after watching five minutes of 5D's, it really comes off to me as an immature rant. If she had given more valid/rational reasons for why she doesn't like these shows, I most likely still would have disagreed with her on some levels, but at least it would have looked like she took more time and effort to actually make this list.
 
As someone who's glad the Silver Age is behind us, the show feels like we're being dragged back to it kicking and screaming.

I suppose whether it's a 'step back' or an 'alternative' depends entirely on whether you like it or not. I rather like the new story-driven/continuity-heavy takes on superhero cartoons we've been getting the past few years with Wolverine and the X-Men or Iron Man: Armored Adventures. I feel it's a logical and progressive step in correcting them. BATB goes in the complete opposite direction. So as someone who'd like a Batman version of those two shows, it's not my cup of tea and just means we're going to have to wait that much longer until we get one. Is it bad enough to make this list? I don't think so, but it's still a disappointment.
 
I have to fault the list for the opinion on Batman The Brave and The Bold. For once I'd like to see criticism for the show that didn't include "It's not dark, thus it's automatic crap".

Even The Batman with most complaints being based more on Nostalgia was given a legitamite complaint (in that the show could never settle on an identity).
 
Huhh, well I try to be determined but I give up. But yes it does seem like this list is an exscuse for John K... I mean someone else to rant about todays cartoons and even then some of these cartoons are not that bad, but wheres Mr Meaty? Fan Boy and Chum Chum? 6Teen? Total Drama Action? Flapack? or Chowder? Chowders not neccesarly bad but it and the other I listed are much more noisy then Johnny Test, and more likely to harm your brain.
 
I guess I should be thankful I haven't seen most of these. But American Dragon, for all its imperfection, doesn't belong on the list. Even the first season wasn't so bad.
 
To be fair, the conclusion he reaches in the first paragraph of Johnny Test's write up is a very reasonable conclusion to come to.

But I do agree with his Garfield, Casper, and SHS write ups because I know I wouldn't have liked them as a kid for those exact reasons he listed. Because I hated those kinds of shows even back then. It stings more because Garfield & Friends was so great. Better than the comic.

As for Brave & The Bold, it's not a step back. The Batman was an attempt at being another B:TAS, while B&TB attempts a different direction. It's awesome in a completely different way than TAS is.

Theres a bunch of anime I love but there not currently airing or just finished airing in America like Gurren Lagann but I guess those dont count.
 
After looking at that list, and the reactions of several people to that list, I decided to watch a few episodes of Johnny Test.

I like it.
 
Amen. There are no fewer than three people there that list "6teen". Really, if that's the best one can do in listing terrible cartoons, congratulations! You've officially stopped trying.
 
I can't argue with Johnny Test at #1. Sorry to all the Test apologists here, but for me, the show truly is that bad.

Most of the list is an accurate representation of CN's current junk-diet programming (mediocre licensed shows and toy commercials) which has made it really hard for me to tune in recently. Shame that this happens when their original programming is actually good again.
 
I'd rather watch Johnny Test than Dexter's Lab. I never found Dexter funny... it just felt like it never went far enough with its idea. Ego Trip was cool but not particularly funny. Johnny Test takes it concepts and runs away with it, crank its up to 11 and what have you. Its crazy... I like crazy.
 
The Yugioh Tv series are by far the worst at a promoting the TCG or other products because of one huge thing. Nearly all the cards in used in the TV series never get a real Trading Card version and if they do they userly get their effects downgraded alot making alot of them very bad and hard to use cards.

Chaotic is a Yugioh rip off im sure it was just created because Upper Deck lost the rights to Print Yugioh cards from Konami who now print them world wide.
 
As long as it's already been mentioned...

I don't get Fanboy & Chum Chum. I've seen a bunch of episodes and...I just don't get it. What's the deal with these two? It all just seems insane for the sake of being insane. Reminds me of the randomness of Spongebob with none of the heart or the interesting characters. And while the designs look good in 2D (I love those title cards) they look horrid in 3D.
 
Funny, I actually like half of the shows on that list and only two of ten do I have a negative opinion of. But then, I'm an adult, so... I don't count?

I understand the reasoning behind his hatred for The Proud Family. My interpretation of the show is different than his, and that's well and good. But how does the show rot children's brains? Maybe screw up children into thinking the Prouds are stereotypical of all black families, if one's so inclined to think that way. But that doesn't correlate to kids' brains' rotting, IMO.

Plus, considering the show airs at 3:30 am now and ended few years ago, should it even be on this list? Same for American Dragon, which airs at 3 am. My thought is that they needed a couple Disney shows to break up the Cartoon Network / 4Kids party.

The sad thing is, you expect so many Cartoon Network shows because Nick and Disney have combined right now... what, zero third-party cartoons airing? Of course, if you include Nicktoons [the network] and Disney XD, that at least puts a few in the pile. Cartoon Network by far has the most third-party acquisitions on air, 4Kids second.

On that note, are there any in-house CN and 4Kids' shows in that list? I count zero (unless Chaotic actually is a 4Kids' in-house show) - which means the list is more a call against crappy acquisitions and imploring kids' networks to put out more first-party animated programming that actually 'might have had work put into it.'

But, meh... everyone's got an opinion.
 
Define 'die-hard'?

I'm a huge fan of Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Ben 10: Alien Force, and if 'airing' doesn't require the show to still be in production, the Secret Saturdays.
