"Black Panther (Animated Series)" News & Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I just find out that the france thief in Batroc , there are a lot of Marvel characters in this series. I just want it to have at least 13 episodes or 26!!
Don?t stop at eight!

He's from the UK, series means season over there, like a lorry being a British word for truck.

Anyway this may last more seasons/series, because BET has nothing better to replace it with.

heh... I was about to post thinking this was brand new... I guess not.. :)

(hey, i'm already here!) :D

well... I'm glad that there will be a preview at Comic-Con.. hopefully this will increase buzz and get Mr. Hudlin to push Viacom for BET to have a higher national & international profile, and when the show starts coming on, hopefully there will be high ratings and lots of fans from diverse backgrounds, so the show can continue, and eventually put out season DVD sets..

Rumor is that they're re-doing the animation style, as it's come under criticism since the sneak preview. I doubt the rumor is true, but that's the rumors floating around....................

How many episodes were made for the first season?

Saw the first episode, we already knew the show was motion comic style. It looks better than just a motion comic though, of course its not quite an animated show either. I actually really enjoyed the episode, most of the voices I'm not too fond of though. I don't know who the target audience is though, its a bit too violent for it to be for kids and but not engaging enough to have only adults as its audience. I enjoyed the tone a lot, I'm just saying its kind of in a middle ground that it has enough to alienate both audiences instead of the opposite.

I thought it was extremely ballsy of them to try to replicate John Romita Jr. style thirty frames per second. He has a tremendous style and I think it can translate to animation fine, but all the extra rendering and inkwork could really hurt the animation.

I think it would be extremely wise of them if they had revamped the look of the show so they don't have to struggle to step up to JRJR frame after frame, because that's a very tall order given he's one of the very best pencillers working today...

Wow...that is really just like the comics and how Romita and Janson drew them. It looked a bit funny at times when they moved. However, I swear that Captain America is going to appear, because at the comic con there was a minuite trailer of Panther carrying him on his shoulders in his WW2 costume? Anyway the trailer was great, thanks!

Hope they do Black Panther vs. Fantastic Four.

Well thats a little disappointing hearing Black Panther won't be showing this year. Well I guess theres always next year to get to know about Black Panther.

Was there ever a preview of this show? If there was could someone give me a link to it or tell me the site?

That's only a mini series. I strongly believe (and I could be wrong) that after the BP/CA mini series, Hudlin won't be getting that much work (or any at all) from Marvel. He will go the way of Ron Zimmerman.

The first issue of Hudlin's run had a flashback to when the Panther and Cap fought in WW2, except instead of fighting to a draw Hudlin had BP beat Cap completely and carry him off over his shoulder.

That scene was supposed to be in the SDCC footage that was shown.
