"Black Panther (Animated Series)" News & Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I always liked reading about The Black Panther, T'Challa. He is not only King of Wakanda, but also an Avenger, a solo superhero, and the fact this series will include the original 6 comics would also suggest some involvement of Klaw, and maybe The Man Ape. Not only is it cool Black Panther is being adapted for tv, but, the series is a Prime Time animated series. There have never been too many of those...especially a Prime Time animated Superhero series. JLU, JL, the Premiere of Batman: TAS (7pm in the east). If Black Panther is successful...maybe BET could option Blade, The Falcon, or Luke Cage Hero For Hire where he would be joined by Iron Fist, Misty Knight and others.

Thanks. The preview looked alright (as I can't hear since my computer doesn't have sound.) The only thing I don't like is how the characters look. They look like someone made how the comic look three dimesional.

Saw the first episode. Thought it was actually very cool and original for once. Liked the maturity and tone they're going for. And personally, I really dig the "animation". Sure, its different, but what's wrong with that. The quality in character designs and even action is miles better than any other marvel animated show. Thumbs up from me for doing something original for once. Because I for one am sick of the same old character designs and style we got from X-men evolution and wolverine and the x-men and Spectacular spider-man. The x-men shows look fricken identical, and spectacular spider-man just looks plain silly. I'dd actually prefer this kind of ingenuity above those boring standard American cartoon styles any day. I'm just so bloody tired of "animation friendly" designs. Damn you Bruce Timm! :-) Give me some curvature dang it!

.....That looked awful in every way. Even if I had the channel I wouldn't watch that. Animation was beyond awful, as was the dialogue. Black Panther is a hard character to make interesting..this porbably isn't going to be the show that does it.

Before the trailer features the hunters all getting slaughtered, there are brief interviews with Hudlin and someone I think called Denys Coldman. There are pictures with Avengers and Fantastic four(though they aren't animated). Right at the beginning two pictures drawn like Janson and Romita's style. There were more but the ones that caught my attention were Klaw smiling malevolntly and Panther looking at who I think is iron man.

Hey all,

I've heard that this is an 8 episode season however I can not see any mention of episodes 7 and 8 coming soon. Does anyone have any info on this?

Thanks,
Matty-lad

I have to say I like it, I love the old 60's Marvel Cartoons, and this reminds me of this, whether they had this mind to make the cartoon this way or if it's a budget constraint? either way I'll still watch. You never know if this proves popular (as well as cheap to make and quick to make) other Marvel Comics could be adapted.
