he left his house and HE testified he backed them off his property.

are we not to believe his testimony?

It's not right because Texas says so, idiot. It's right because they were a danger to him and he protected himself and his family.

How can you be so cool and intelligent sometimes, and then completely moronic other times? I don't get it.

Invading another man's property without just cause is wrong. Threatening a man's family in their home is wrong. Defending your family from a threat is right. These are not up for votes.

You don't have to agree with me, but you do have to stop intentionally mischaracterizing my arguments.

One might - and I do - argue that he DID put his family first, and protected them quite effectively.

but when you (he) left the house with a gun, you (he) became the aggressor.

in other words, you can't create the situation and then use the situation to justify your actions. he was perfectly safe inside his house. they weren't trying to get in his house. the kids weren't displaying anything that indicate the father was in danger inside his house..........so when he went outside, he escalated it. he can't use that escalation he created to justify shooting the kids.

he was inside his house; they were outside his house.

i don't care if he was chased home, he got away. at that point he should have called the police, rather than seek vengeance.

I have to admit, he was a little trigger-happy. He should have waited until they were coming in. I would be surprised if they actually had tried to come in given that they were armed.

A white man would be punished for the same thing.

Huh? Maybe I was unclear in what I said.

If a gang of unarmed thugs was attacking me I would shoot them BEFORE they got the chance to jump me. Is that more clear?

Read the communist menifesto and the 10 steps to communism then look at your statement and tell me what's wrong. I have faith.

I agree with you. If they said "Come out here or we are going to come in here and kill you!" that would be another thing.

But they didn't say that now did they?

No, they were just trespassing and using "nasty words".

Understand the difference yet?

Go look up the the thread where a guy shot and killed a robber in a neighbors house. He even called 911 and couldn't wait to shoot the guy even when the operator told him to hold back.

He was treated as a hero on OT.

I've been here longer than you pal and I have participated in everyone of these threads, and this is the first time where the majority of OT thinks a homeowner didn't have the right to kill an intruder. This is also the first time that it was a black homeowner.

Yeah, pretty unclear, because there is no way you would shoot me --that's what you said--if you were unarmed.

anyway, that's completely different than kids yelling from the street.

(talk about dying in a crossfire!)

ok........... so here:you think it's ok to shoot someone because he "might be dangerous"

but then there's this:

even though one is supposedly someone protecting himself and the other deals with "American criminal justice" they still don't jive with me.....all the kids outside HAVE DONE is yell. but you're ok with justifying their shooting because the "can be dangerous"?
