Batman 3. What would you like to see?

"A projected mid-1999 release date was announced.[40] Titled Batman Triumphant, Protosevich's script had the Scarecrow as the main villain. Through the use of his fear toxin, he resurrects the Joker. Harley Quinn appeared as a supporting character, written as the Joker's daughter.[41] George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell were set to reprise the roles of Batman and Robin.[42] "

I hope they don't ruin Harley like this movie would have done :O

After playing Arkham Asylum I'd really like to see Poison Ivy re-imagined (I never saw Uma's versuion of her as I stopped watching the old Batman movies half way through the third one).

I do think Harley Quinn would be a good character due to her backstory but I don't think she'd work without the Joker & Nolan wouldn't make the mistake of recasting the Joker for the next movie.

If the Riddler was to be in it then it would have to be Depp that played him - He would be phenominal!

The only things I would change are:
1. Sort out Batman's voice because that comical grunting was ridiculous
2. Get rid of Michael Caine - I f****ing hate him!!!!

There's nothing inherently wrong with having the Riddler, but akin to how the Penguin should 'really' be, he'd have to have a good supporting crew or a really deep psychological plot as his character is very frail, and nothing like the jumpy-abouty portrayals of the Riddler thus far.

My preference would be someone like Bane, Firebug or Prometheus. Unfortunately I don't think they'd be well known enough by themselves to 'boost' the film, so perhaps a frail Enigma with someone like that helping him out? I dunno really.

Ivy could be good if done properly, as she can be a very interesting character...but I don't think her character would fit at all with Nolan's more "realistic" Batman universe.

Riddler... maybe. He'd have to be done properly though, without any Jim Carreyness, and without appearing to be a poor man's Joker. Not sure Depp would be right for him though.

Harley would require The Joker. Can't see her working on her own.

Bane... hmm, maybe.

Retire the Joker? What rubbish. That's just over-emotional Ledger fans thinking they have some kind of rights over the character.

Ledger's performence was incredible but there's no reason why the Joker shouldn't be recast and used again eventually. The character is too iconic to be retired, regardless of who has played him.

Just a retort to the poster - I thought the phrase was a bit condescending ;)

I do think that venom could be factored into Bane's makeup in the Nolan universe, but not as something that 'hulks' him up at the push of a button, but rather him being exposed to it throughout his youth as part of an experiment in his home country, leaving him perpetually 'roided' up but with the super-intelligence.

I suppose how they could do it is that he might have some kind of button that send impulses into his brain that switched him from super-smart to super-strong for five minutes or so, a bit like the electrode implants that some epileptic people are now using to modify their brain functions.

I don't think anyone can sell me the idea of having Catwoman in the film to be honest. I have to admit that I've always been in the minority of just not liking the character, I don't really know why. I'd much rather they brought in an analogue of Poison Ivy, the Huntress or Talia al Ghul. Catwoman's always been just a bit too 'normal' for my liking.

edit - a moment of serendipity! I've not seen anyone mention Anarky yet. If you had him, and then Poison Ivy as an eco-terrorist, then you could have a cracking action film with the requisite intelligent/psychological factor?

That wasn't proper Catwoman as far as I am concerned. I am so glad they didn't make her Selina Kyle because it means Selina is preserved so far as Michelle Pfieffer, until they find someone equally as good or better to play her next.

Sorry but I stick by my opinion. I have never liked one role that Christian Bale as played, he is the type of actor that relies solely on his looks, which is the only reason I can see why he gets all these big roles. And last time I checked he was in the business of acting and not in the business of modellling so looks should not outweigh talent. Has the world not learned anything at all from Tom Cruise?

I am not saying that all actors who are considered good looking can not act, but there are more than just a few that fall into the category. The only thing I can give Christian Bale credit for so far is making both Kevin Costner and William Shatner seem like acting goRAB.

I guess my liking for Catwoman is down to her mirroring Bruce/Batman in a lot of ways.

Good point about the Bane venom. I was thinking after my earlier post, if they can have a rare blue flower that can be used to make Gotham hallucinate, then some sort of strength enhancer isn't so unbelievable.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did adapt The Dark Knight Returns to the big screen. It was the first comic to return Batman to his rightful dark roots.
I mean, if Nolan really didn't make a third film, then it'd fit into place what with Batman being a fugitive now...

He goes into retirement for years and years and then dons the cape and mask once more.

I doubt Nolan would ever go down that path.

I don't think they should do a carbon copy of Heath's Joker. Despite the realism of Nolan's films (realism I think people over empathise) The Joker is a comic book character, and I think if another actor plays him in Nolan's series they should make the role their own.

Wat does every1 think the main theme for the movie will be Batman Begins was fear, The Dark Knight was Chaos cant think what this shuld be

I know it isn't in the comics (at least i think it isn't) or any previous movie but i think it would be good if Comissioner Gordon slowly started turning corrupt.

I disagree that anything Christian Bale has been in has been good because of him - it's dispite that the films are what they are, and for the most part he's out acted and a supporting actor, he is hardly the main star, and when he is he's not very good

If anyone wants to see acting at it's worse, look no further than Christian Bale in Harsh Times, where he is trying to do an american accent and says hommie about a million times, it's truely pathetic

As has been said, he can't do accents and just plays his annoying American Pycho character. The problem is that films now 10 years old. He was even annoying in empire of the sun

When I think of Batman, and I watched them all the only one that really stood out was the first which had amazing scenes and it was a true 'classic'

The new batman films are now like the latest James Bond films, Wooden acting in them by another over rated actor daneil graig, and plots you can't follow or are actually rather unbelievable, in fact I often think they rely on the action films a little too much as if you was to take that away there's not much of a story

I don't even know what the last two batman films were about and ca't remember any scenes

If I was to change something it would be get a new director, and get rid of wooden Christian Bale

It's not that the latest Batman or James Bond films were bad, they just weren't very good

You find an upper class English schoolboy who swans around Shanghai in a chauffer driven car and who treats his servants badly annoying? So would I so job done.

Opinons are obviously varied on this subject, but there is worldwide praise for Christian Bale's performances notably one Pulitzer Prize for Criticism winner Roger Ebert. The fact he is able to get work with top directors cannot be denied.

The Craig Bond films are the best ones to come in years after the ridiculous Brosnan series. It is nice to see a character on screen which relates to the one in Fleming's literature.

I definitely think there should be an improved batcave, surely Wayne Manor would be just about rebuilt, maybe a new tumbler too.

As far as villains are concerned, I still think it could work if they brought back Harvey Dent as a sort of shock return. Although I don't think anyone could touch Michelle Pfeiffer's performace, I think Catwoman could also work, maybe as a wronged prostitute or something who reforms her life while secretly plotting revenge on whoever has screwed her over (I know it sounRAB similar to the Batman Returns character but I like the idea of Catwoman seeking revenge throughout the movie). Plus the character is always a good choice as a rival/love interest for Batman and would definitely be more of a passionate relationship than Rachel Dawes.

Think these are all good ideas, but for the love of god don't make David Tennant The Riddler. I couldn't bear the overexaggerated facial expressions!
