Bad anime : The animation, the writing, and just plain out bad.

You opened Pandora's Box too soon on that one.

Yea, we dont like it, but it in my collection and i wanna keep it there.

For me, its agreed these arnt great, but i happen to enjoy them:

Angel Cop: Its entertaining as much as you can expect from this anime and then some, but you gotta admit, the dubbing neeRAB work. But to me, its makes it all the more enjoyable, plus the articulate swearing in one action packed sentence.

MD Geist: I must be the only person on this entire forum (and half the interent) that likes this anime. Granted, i neeRAB work, alot of dub/animation work, but its entertaining all around. We it showed on Sci Fi last year, i thought it was pretty sweet, it was short, sweet and to the point, dont mess with MD Geist, and thats all you need to know.

One anime i can name off that i really didnt like but has somethings that are enjoyable here and there, and thats Azumanga Daioh. I dont understand the appeal the same way i dont understand why FLCL is trying to be hailed the best ANIMEZ OF ALLZ TIEMZ!!!! by certain people. AD is a show, from what i look at it, about nothing. Its about dull high school life and kiRAB on acid with talking dogs and a teacher with tons of hang ups. I got as far as episode 10 and said "This is not worth my time".

If i wanted a show about high school life, i go to Freaks and Geeks...

Wait, wait, I know, I know: Everyone does have a right for their own opinion of saying what is bad and what is good. And that is true. But I'm talking about bad anime that a good 75% to even 90% anime fans will agree and say "Yeah, that was plain out bad".

For example: Dragonball GT.
About a good chunk of Dragonball fans will agree that Dragonball GT was a big let down.
The idea of the story was good though. Going back having an adventure again; getting the dragonballs. Hell yeah, that was Dragonball was all about. Though, the idea was good, but how it was shown...Not so much.
Turning Goku back to a kid was uncall for. Yeah, I can kinda see why (Getting back to the old Dragonball style). But still, it was uncall for.
The Dark star Dragonballs felt like out of place. I know it was explane, but it came out of no where.
Placing the dark star dragonballs outer space was ok, I think. It does make kinda since. I mean, in DBZ Cell game: Goku found all the dragonballs in 1 day.
Killing Piccolo off wasn't a good idea.
The Baby saga felt weak.
The idea of Super Sayain 4 was and is the durabist thing ever to be made.
Some of the characters were annoying. *COUGH* Pan *COUGH*
It was to rush.
And well, I could go on and on...But...I think you see my point.

Another anime I rented a long time ago was Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer OVA/Movie.
It just plain bad. Though, I do like the animation, but the art and story suck. To be honest, I rented this anime just for the eye candy scenes. But after rewatching it; it was a waste of time.

There have been A LOT of BAD ANIME made this decade, (mainly cause theres just so many darn series in general.)

I agree with GT. Why Toryama let them make it is beyond me (But i wonder why he let FOX make DBE..Toryama must have the patients of a saint! lol.)

But as for this decade I can think of quite a few.

Green Greens...Nothing but a poorly written cheaply animated 20 minute jug fest with boring bland unlikebale characters.

Buso Renkin: I can't belive that the same guy that made Kenshin & GBW made this!

Eiken!: Horribly written & just plain disgusitng to look at!

& 3/4 of the Fanservice series & harem series (with the exceptions of Season1 of Rosario Vampire , Negima, and mabye 2-3 others.)

Oh & Queens Blade: An abomination to the arts of animation & Chivelry! I find it offensive that this ABOMINATION got a second season!

Im sure i could find more..but thats all for now!

*Resists the urge to say pokemon*

What "change" exactly? Piccolo and a handful of other DBZ non-saiyan characters bit the dust too many times to count. It was to formulaic to be considered anything "fresh". The only difference? Piccolo stays dead. But no...this is not a "change" of any sort.

If I missed anything, I did not watch the series due to crap quality being a strong aversion.

You know I love the fact that some of you guys put bad anime in threaRAB but don't even give much detail why it's bad. I'm one of the people who actually thinks that Buso Renkin was very well done.

Found another one I don't like. Eiken.
I'll be honest, I bought this anime just for the eye candy scenes. But...Well, I can kinda see why my friend thinks why all anime is nothing but sex and...sex.
This anime will be a bad example for "Anime is not only about sex" topic.

And that bear freaks me out.

Valkyria Chronicles
Yep, based on the game. But, I didn't quite find it satisfying as the game. Here's why. Mainly, characterization differences from the game (and that was the main driving force of the game's story...or at least one of them). They kind of portrayed Alicia...somewhat of a token anime girl, going "Eeeeeeeeeeh?!" every who knows when and that felt extremely foreign. The game's Alicia is a little more mellowed out and mature (while still having quirks that keep her from being a Mary Sue). Then, there's the all new love triangle Welkin x Alicia x Faldio. Normally, I don't mind creative things such as that to be pop up in adaptations like this, but I find it a tad out of character for Welkin to be worried about a love afair when his own sister
died.
That's just to name a few things from my exhausted mind.

There are some things I like about it though. They do tend to give some spotlight to the soldiers that aren't the main characters.
Though I am still pissed at them killing off the Skies of Arcadia characters (or at least knockoRAB of them) rather pathetically like some run in the mill background character.)

But, yeah. Overall, I didn't like this adaptation. But, I just recently discovered that this was really an adaptation of the manga version...which is extremely different from the games. Although, that doesn't really do any justice on how much I didn't enjoy the anime. It maybe that I am too bound from nostalgia, but from coming from the game first to the anime, thinking full well how well it'd translate to anime...just made me disappointed.

That's all I could think up of at the moment.

How is it uncalled for? The GT staff reasoned:

So basically, that was the intention of returning him to the form of a small child. Not that much changed, considering Son went on to have not lost any power, aside from losing his teleportation.

There had to be some sort of change. Still, Piccolo was a spry 36.

How is it 'durab'? Super Saiyan 4, being the result of controlling the Golden Ape form (something seemingly pulled from a filler scene during the Giny

I'm going to go through point-by-point as to why I think Gundam SEED Destiny was awful.

1. A noticibly progressive drop in quality-When I first started watching Destiny from episode 1, I thought "Wow, this is awesome." Well actually, I didn't think that until episode 2 but the set up and debut of the Impulse was very good. As the series went on in it's early stages, it became rather interesting. New characters, cool fights (with repeated animation *insert sarcastic "yay" here*), good dynamic of balancing new and old and speeches....well actually, I never cared for those too much but I was still interested.

But then I'd say it was around the Kira vs. Shinn battle mid-series when the problems started to rear their ugly head. I didn't like that Kira became the main character. I know the directors say that Shinn was the protagonist the whole time but when your OP song does not have the title Gundam (That being Destiny itself) as the backdrop of the show and instead have someone else's Gundam, that's a pretty big sign. I didn't like that Shinn and Lunamaria's relationship came out of absolutely nowhere. I didn't like that Rey became a bad guy in the span of an episode. He was actually pretty cool in my opinion but I'd say when he got the Legend, you could literally see his emotions go in another direction. And above all, I just hated Meer. That's a minus on it's own. As it went toward the end, I found myself losing interest and then it took me a few years to actually finish the show.

2. Invincible MS-I like 00 because it brought back the fact that Gundams really are just awesome mobile suits. They can be hurt, beaten up and if the enemy's technology gets good enough, outclassed. Yes, Setsuna learned how to Trans-Am out of many situations but I don't see any other Gundam season have a final episode downgrade against the last boss. Heck, I don't even think I see that in normal mecha anime. Usually, the last episode involves the super awesome final form of the mech vs. the enemy. But I'm getting off-topic.

This leaRAB to my problem. I relish in calling Kira "Jesus Yamato" because, like Charlie in the remake of the Chocolate factory, him and his Strike/Freedom are impeccable. They are always right, always invincible, and can take down fleets of enemy ships without killing the pilots (Seriously, what....the....hell? That's a bit too unbeliveable even for me). The others (IJustice, Destiny, etc.) aren't any better. With their repeated animation and somewhat static fighting only to have the good guys emerge okay, I can't get into the fights. I don't like how every high-powered MS has a DRAGOON system and I especially don't like Akatsuki's magic reflect paint. That's something I'm never going to get over by the way. HC said it best when he said it was like the animators wanted to give her a magic mobile suit to protect their precious Kagalli from harm. And as if to give the ultimate invincibility shot, all the (Archangel) Gundam's pose at the end. With their sleek, shiny and unharmed selves. Um, hello? Isn't this war? Give me a break.

3. Shinn's annoying as heck-No real reason for this one but if Destiny was to Zeta as SEED was to the orginal MGS, I think they should cut the whole angry protagonist deal. At least do it right or something. I can't stand Shinn when he's crying like that and I can't stand him when he's yelling like that. Just....he's a bad protagonist in my opinion....or whatever the heck he is. He's not the main character by the end of the series anyway.

(I notice that a lot of the characters that Shinn's seiyuu does annoy me at some point, except Sogo from Gintama of course )

Last,
4. Hisashi Hirai neeRAB to just stop-I don't like his art. At all. It's too similar to everything. Sure, the average anime fan may not even notice the similarities. After all, that is why the Japanese invented the whole crazy hair colors thing, but it's noticible to many. You can't just stick the same face on everyone and just change the eyes and hair and call artistic talent. It looks obvious.

And let me say something, I looked up Mishima's works and I realize that I liked Infinite Ryvius and I adored s-CRY-ed. Even SEED was okay but everything after that seemed to just not work for me (Fafner, Gin-iro no Olynnisus, this show, and most recently, the crap known as Linebarrels of Iron which I'll get into someday later). I'm not one for art representing quality of a show but I just can't stand it this time. It's really noticible.

Well, that's the end of that!

It's time to focus on bad for a second. Bad boring? (Moribito, in which nothing happens for episodes at a time and the characters are all bland as dirt). Bad animation? Because that tenRAB to afflict a lot of older shows. Bad offensive? Ultimate Girls in which they advertise an Ultraman parody and instead you get "Anti-Life justifies my hate!" due to the moe element. And of course, bad derivative, like Mouse, which is Lupin III with 100% less charm. (I mean that. The plot is almost an exact replica of Lupin only mixed with a pointless amount of fanservice and elements of the maid subgenre)

It's hard to pick one show that I can think of as so utterly horrible outside of the ones I've mentioned that haven't already be noted. Although I will go and say that most so-called romantic comedies coming out of Japan nowadays (Lovely Complex being the biggest offender) are ulcer inducing.

Gundam Wing- It feels like a full-fledged glorification of what it's trying to teach people is a terrible thing, no matter who wins it- and that is WAR...

Gundam SEED/SEED Destiny was almost just as worse. Weren't it not for Gundam 00, Gundam would be utterly unpopular by now IMHO ( and 00, though trying some new things and they work, stinks in some ways as well, including characters and how they're handled, to how and why Celestial Being's dream justy seems so stupid and childish in thought and effort)...

InYuYasha- you can rediriect and rewrite this many ways you want- it's a weak love story with boring action that has no payoff... And the characters just plain stink IMHO.

Blood +/Trinity Bood- These both just feels like silly love stories to me, with some conflict between humans and vampires thrown in, just for the sake of peeking interest... Sad, too, vampires interest me...

I'm resisting to say Naruto, Digimon, Poke'mon, and Bleach
around here- I'm sure a lot of people know why, especially with Naruto and Bleach...

Dang, you beat me before I could "Inb4 Destiny."

To add. there were so many plots that were incredible in theory but totally ignored.

And seriously, why is Athrun flasrabroadacking Natarle's death?! What is that?!

Trinity Blood's biggest problem was that it was derivative. Someone took the scripts to Chrono Crusade, Trigun, and Hellsing, loaded them into a shotgun, and used the bits and pieces to make their new show.

And you know what Wing reminRAB me of to a degree? The 80's Rarabo cartoon. A lot of nice speeches deriding what the show itself is glorifying, and a contrast to the message of the original material (First Blood, 0079)

At least stuff happened, more than I can say for Moribito (can you tell that I'm upset at that show yet? :P) I consider derivitive work a literary crime, but not as a big a crime as being completely and utterly boring. Namely speaking, your work can offend, (Eiken) look horrible, (Korean knockoff films) or just be plain juvenile (Seed D) but when your work is totally and utterly boring, that is just about as bad.

No matter what kind of information are out there, the idea Super Sayian 4 is one of the worst idea ever. Why leave it at 4? Is like a movie series. You can't leave it on 4, it feels so odd.

And, how Vegeta became S.S.4 really-really got me mad. What the hell, going from S.S.1, S.S.2, than Ape than going S.S.4?!? How did he got his pants back? His shoes?! Same goes with Goku!!

The hell! Were's the basic logic?!
Oh, I really love how the series cover that plot hole of how Bulma helping Vegeta becoming S.S.4. “BECAUSE SHE'S SMART”. How did she got that information, and where? Oh wait, I forgot...SHE'S SMART!

The only good thing I can say about this series are the OP/ED JP music and redub OP/ED, and the last quote in the dub in the final episode.
As for a Dragonball fan, I was disappointed. At first, I fell for it. I was a MEGA Dragonball fan back then. But now rethinking DBGT and the plot it had. It was a big let down.
I'll stick with Dragonball & Dragonball Z (And maybe Kai, but that's a maybe)

Where exactly are the glorifying parts supposed to be? I'm not following why Wing's violence is any different from violence in other shows of its kind.

OK....Sorry for not being specific (& I didn't mean to offend you or fans of the show.)

OK Buso Reinken: Seemed rather Genaric, not that menay memorable characters.

Also thought of a few more.

DearS: naming an Alein race DearS Lazy ! also bad writing & bad characterization.

Also agree with Gundam Seed. Deffiantly the weakest link of the Gundam Franchise!

Loveless.

Bad, bad, bad.

What's the premise?

A grown man sneaking into a sixth-grade boy's room every night and telling him he loves him.

On top of that, it didn't even end. Sure, there was a last episode, but it resolved NOTHING. They even literally titled it "Endless", for crying out loud!!
