Bad anime : The animation, the writing, and just plain out bad.

That show was great in its own unique way, i honestly don't get where all the hate comes from for it.

I watched the entire series solely to see the bouncy bouncy, and it was awesome.

The story was ridiculous though... well, at least it was followable.
 
Eureka did not make the top 3 once and was given a decent timeslot before being shoved aside by Week 3. Geass would have ended up on ScyFy if AS hadn't caved in on the matter, but that was a direct result of an enviornment created by shows like Eureka 7 which were low rated and unpopular.

And they were unpopular, hence their treatment. It wasn't like Bleach were the manga sales or Geass with the DVD sales showed the audience, let alone Gurren where Bandai gushed about ratings. It was a borab, and with good reason. The romance for two year olRAB was a big one.
 
I Like Eureka Seven, True the Romance seems childish, but remeber the show is told through renton's point of view & he see's himself as a child till the end of the series, so I don't blame the romance for seeming it was written like a child because thats how it was supposed to be, also lets face it romance & love in general are both somewhat Primal & Childish things.

But I digrese, given E7 had many Flaws but that doesn't mean it was a bad series, all the major shonene shows have a decent amount of flaws as well One Piece, Bleach & Naruto all have flaws but there still popular because there entertaining, E7 was entertaining to, is it A+ material, NO but its not A bad show, I mean it was really no more Conviluted or rediculious then Geass was at time & Unlike Geass E7 didn't have a rushed ending.

And my rant is done.

A good show that I seen that was a somewhat rip-off from Lupin III is "where in the world is carmen sandiego?".



I did like the idea of that show. The first 2 season of it was great. But later on, "Inuyasha! Kagome! Inuyasha! Kagome! Inuyasha! Kagome! Inuyasha! Kagome! Inuyasha! Kagome! Inuyasha! Kagome! Inuyasha! Kagome! Inuyasha! Kagome!", I think you see my point.
 
Glad I'm not the only one. After exposing myself to Victory Gundam and Zeta Gundam, I now know what a real war drama is supposed to be like. Gundam Wing this ain't!
Like I said, SEED/ SEED Destiny and 00 don't help much either, especially SEED/ SEED Destiny- Too many Gundams, too many evil organizations, not much or no true purpose for the world to endure it all!!
 
And now you're blaming Eureka Seven for the current treatment of anime on Adult Swim? Wow. Anyway, you keep talking about how Renton and Eureka's relationship was childish. And? Of course it was. You have a naive 14-year-old boy whose feelings start out as mere puppy love and a girl who is not even human, started out as a blank slate, and is only recently learning what love is. I wouldn't expect kiRAB to have a relationship as mature as an adult's.

I don't recall Eureka Seven being pushed back that far on the schedule. At least it was never on at 3-5 Am or something ridiculous like that. If was really that unpopular, the DVD's Special Editions would have either been cut back or cancelled outright. It wouldn't be the first time (Planetes, Lucky Star). Why would a movie based on a show that completely borabed be dubbed and given a theatrical release and possible Blu-Ray release. That's too much money to spend on a borab, especially from the current Bandai. Also, the finale. Adult Swim probably wouldn't have bothered airing it properly a week later if there hadn't been enough outcry.
 
Ratings and quality do not go hand in hand, I think that can be said with confidence. Especially when late Saturday night tenRAB to be a death slot in and of itself almost by default.

If Gurren Lagann and Monster were on AS instead of SyFy, the ratings would be less. I'd bet money on it. But of course they wouldn't be magically less good then.

Anyhow, on the romance, sometimes it doesn't have to be serious. Nobody knocks Disney's Snow White or Beauty and the Beast for this. Now, E7 is a mecha show, but I'm not sure it works to tolerate or even like romance when classics do it and demand that it never show up in anime...I mean, why? What for? Also, it isn't like the romantic dramas of anime are very realistic. Almost every time I see one reviewed at Toon Zone and sometimes elsewhere, I seem to see complaints about how what's going on isn't credible for one reason or another. Either the plot sucks or the characters are too dense or tolerant to be real. The good ones in recent memory probably couldn't be counted off on my hand. So maybe some "sappy" material will do.

Of course, I've only watched 10%-15% of E7, so I really shouldn't get beyond this theoretical talk and into the details on this. I know, I'm working on it, I'll do it eventually. I do know that the romance angle was very much essential to the completely alternate movie.
 
But Geass is a bad show too.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Code Geass, but it is highly flawed and therefore shouldn't be considered a good show.

... and at least the ending of Geass came together and made some sense.

I wasn't saying you guys can't like Eureka Seven.
I like a lot of bad shows too.
But don't say that it is a good show, cause it isn't.

......that doesn't make sense. We can't really have it both ways by saying "this sucks and doesn't make sense, we can't say that it's good, but we can love it" unless you're talking about an intentional parody or a wacky comedy. What's the rationale for liking what you believe is awful?

I mean, there's coherent writing and the necessity of making sure that things make some sort of internal sense, sure...and I wouldn't debate that Geass took things too far for its own good several times, especially in season 2. But just being over-the-top doesn't make something bad in and of itself. We'd have to hate every robot anime ever made then, since humanoid robots are really not practical creations. Gurren Lagann makes up its own rules. Lots of shows show off incredible physical feats. Etc, etc.

We have our fair share of cartoons about real life out there, but most of the time animation is going to exaggerate reality one way or another. That's just how it is. And that's usually a big part of what makes it fun to watch.
 
Given the nature of the title, I'm only going to list animes in which I have seen the whole thing, and did not, overall, find good.

Eureka Seven
If the anime makes you cry when you watch, it is usually a good one.
But when you make the anime cries when you watch, it is not a good one.

Final Fantasy Unlimited
An example of an anime that makes you cry, but not because it is good.

Fate/Stay Night
Ok, it wasn't horrible, but it certainly wasn't good; certainly not as good as it ought to have been.
There was just so many tasteless scenes, and the plot moved along so jarringly I got car sick from watching it.
They are making a movie though, which hopefully will be handled well.
(The premise has great potential, I just haven't seen it used yet.)

If anyone disagrees with me on this, it is only because they fell asleep while watching it.
Trust me.
If you had through some miracle of God managed to stay awake and watch the whole series like I did, you would have to agree that this was a bad anime.

I stayed awake throughout all of Witch Hunter Robin, but this almost made me fall asleep.
That's all I've got to say about that.
 
Bah. Even though Wing is about mid-way through my "Favorite Gundam Series" list, Altron always has been, is, and will be my favorite Gundam suit ever. Altron pwns all. Plus, Wu Fei was the best character in the show.
 
I'm not going to speak for anyone else but in my hurable opinion there is always a difference between a flawed show and an absolutely, irredeemably bad one. I'd still rather re-watch Code Geass R2 than something truly awful like Ninja Resurrection or Tekken.

Even taking into consideration that I've become totally disinterested and even cynical about, for example, the shounen fighting genre as a whole, mainly due to its inherently formulaic and repetitive nature, I'm still not going to say everything in it is equally bad.
 
This is the first time i have ever heard something like that said about School Rurable (that i can remeraber), i thought it was a great anime and it is one of my most absolute favorite manga. How can anyone dislike it?
