never claimed that

Why would I use that example if I.... just nevermind...

That's probable cause Ok. Where have I denied that?

You need to realize something. To offer an analogy, if one were to miss an untied shoelace, I hardly think that makes them a poor runner or shoe-wearer. Especially not if they are in a hurry to win a race and that is why they don't notice the errant lace that trips them up when the starter pistol is heard.

This has nothing to do with intelligence at all, and my advice would be to approach the criticism as such, rather than attempting to defend an untenable position. After all, there is hardly a poster in this thread who cannot be linked to the same kind of mistake. Some repeat it daily. Following their example hardly proves anything you would like it to.

I say this because that was dude's argument.

Which, my point of course, is that this just isn't true. Of course everyone decides to jump on my statement without reading wtf I was responding to.

I think the first thing that will probably become clearer is that he was arrested by ICE, not the state police. Because they are the only ones mentioned in the article.

"Sir, this area has a lot of drugs and you don't look like someone who lives here, what are you doing?"

I never said that a cop can stop anyone for whatever reason, I said they can stop someone because they feel that are going to do, thinking about doing or have done something wrong. Go back to daydreaming about shooting someone in the back rather than arguing points that were never made.

I did read the first post. I also realize that he is required to have much, much more paperwork than that. And realistically, any professional American driver realizes that also. Depending on what was missing, it's quite possible that the lack of proper "other" paperwork would make them question whether he was an American citizen.

Hiibel said all you have to give is your name. We already established that a cop can ask you anything you want, all you have to answer is your name. But, the case you posted wasn't a stop and identify, nor was it a Terry stop (hence why I have no idea why you said it reversed Terry )

And it was challenged.... Hiibel.

Thats the point. The article does not contain anything other than speculation by the person who feels they have been wronged. The background story is missing.

The need for a CoLB for a CDL holder to cross the boarder without a passport is only one possible cause for the incident.

What this means is that the Seventh and the original post in the thread are bullshit and laughable. That's the point I am trying to make.

ot will always answer with:

what's the big deal? just carry it with you and show it when asked
