Well I wasn't the one who got owned by a kid, or then owned myself by pointing out that I was just owned by a kid.

So uh, yeah, I'm not mad.

if your argument is that a cop can lie and *say* he had reasonable suspicion, we might as well not be talking.

but if you can't see that the cop in Terry had clear reason to believe a crime was about to be committed, then you have your head up your ass. there are very few things that don't have *some* amount of subjectivity to them.

for example, if you're going 55 in a 54, you're speeding. if you walk by a show one time, you're not doing anything to indicated you're going to rob it. but if you walk by 6 times while looking in, then someone you're with walks by 5 times while peering in, then someone else comes and walks by, then the three of you meet up, you're acting in a way that a reasonable (key word right there, REASONABLE) person could interpret as "about to commit a crime.

are you intentionally trying to be stupid?

Do you even have a clue about CDLs and requirements for driving a commercial vehicle, let alone commercial vehicles that go over the border?
You have state and fed DOT, FMCSA, ICE, Homeland Security and Dept. of Commerce all up in your ass at times.

I can pretty much say no, you don't have a fucking clue about it. So if you insist on keeping this thread going, be aware that it's just demonstrating how unintelligent you are for arguing in yet another thread where you don't even know what the hell you're talking about.

Depending on WHAT you are hauling, WHERE you are hauling it from or to, WHAT ROUTE you are taking, HOW LONG you are hauling it, and how ugly you look you bet your ass you better have everything documented and ready to show at any time. That can and DOES include proof of your nationality.

Don't like it?
Don't get a CDL.

Maybe he was doing something suspicious? Guess we'll never know because we dont have that side of the story.

Are you really this fucking stupid? You really don't know the difference between US Immigration and Customs Enforcement - a division of the US Department of Homeland Security, enforcing federal law - and Arizona state and local police enforcing an Arizona law?

Please think for a second. The quote you provided implies that a) paperwork that was missing and/or b) that a commercial drivers license and SSN were not, in fact, enough.

I don't know what the nature of a discussion has to do with this. The premise you built this thread upon was sensationalism, and that is clearly evidenced in what is not said in the article that you posted.

Where in the Constitution does this say it's a "Free Country"?

Oh yeah, right next to the entry that says "Separation of Church and State", which isn't in the Constitution either.

because you are the one who is trying to make this about AZ's law which is a state law yet it's ICE who is enforcing the federal law.

And 2nd, because you're an idiot for not bothering to research shit. CDL drivers have much more to deal with when it comes to documentation, especially in a border state that already has trucks coming across the border.

ICE already gave their side of the story. It's standard procedure with CDLs, it had nothing to do with the law or profiling, the new law isn't in effect yet, etc.

7th Circlejerk is 0 for 2 today on starting threads without facts.

So you are saying that all the laws that are on the books in various cities and states (even the ones added after the SCotUS ruling) are unconstitutional and just haven't been challenged?

9.03.010 Concealing identity.

Concealing identity consists of concealing one’s true name or identity, or disguising oneself with intent to obstruct the due execution of the law or with intent to intimidate, hinder or interrupt any public officer or any other person in a legal performance of his duty or the exercise of his rights under the law of the United States or of this state. Whoever commits concealing identity is guilty of a petty misdemeanor. (Ord. 1802-2004

this thread reminds me of "OMG 4CHAN KID GETS TAKEN AWAY FROM PARENTS BECAUSE OF THE PATRIOT ACT"

excellent reference!!

according to him, he handed over his ID but not his passport or (obviously) birth certificate............but of course they were racist for asking!

The fact that you claim to be on the side of the Constitution, yet want to ignore federal law.

Ah, so you are saying that the Federal Law, that this guy is objecting to, and is 70+ years old, was the slipper slope to the AZ law that basically restates the Federal Law, except specifically precludes race as a profiling factor is to be a sign of things to come?

You know, if you said that 70 years ago, you may have had an argument, but since this happened earlier this year, you have no leg to stand on (once again).
