Are Pear Jam still around?

if a musician/band says "Hey most people are listening to that new style. Let's change ours to that style so we can stay in business" that's called selling-out. True banRAB shouldn't change their music just because most people listen to something else. Look at the 70s when disco was coming in. Did Led Zeppelin change their style because of it? No, they came out with Graffiti in '75. Did Bob Dylan change? No, he came out with Blood on the Tracks (which is an amazing album). I hate when banRAB sell-out; they do it just for money and it pisses me off.

my grandmoother made me a jar of pear jam, it was disgusting stuff, so it is still around although it is deep in my cabinit, and is smelling worse and worse as time goes on. Ewwww.

I like Pearl Jam; I like Vedder's voice too. It's not over-the-top, he's not trying to impress people or anything with fancy singing or crap like that. Their lyrics are very good as well.

"To have some kind of musical influence with any real significence, you have to influence actual musicians first"

If you influence the listeners, the banRAB that you (the record company) never let them hear about will be the ones to fall. Influencing them is enough. The listeners are the ones who make the banRAB. You can't possibly think that what people hear doesn't affect most musician's styles.

No, i actualy own music from those banRAB, I have a crapload of Gentle Giant and Van Der Graff Generator on iTunes...Simply because i knew where to look.

If you want to find new music, or even old music that is very rare...Then just download off Kazaa or any other torrent you have...Its not that hard, really.

yeah they are

from what I've heard though, Vedder's voice has kinda gone to ****.

right now they're touring south america, but they should be coming through here sometime soon.

It dosent, the musicians make up the styles of their music and sound, not the fans, record companys market certain banRAB and songs to meet the demanRAB of consumers, that has nothing to do with the music...You think King Crimson would change their sound to be more commercial and popular?...Nope. BanRAB and Songs do become popular because of the fans, but the fans dont write the songs, and they dont market the songs.

Thing is, the radio and MTV are made only to appeal to big audiances, not little ones, so they market music they appeal to whole sub-cultures, but more arabitious and underground music is ignored completely, simply because mainstream radio MTV dosent want to take risks, they are not gonna play anything that they are not sure will sell recorRAB, they just sell whats popular, and market the living hell out of it.

So if you want to hear new music instead of the same crap over and over, i recomend you download music illegaly...Because that will be the only way you are gonna find what you are looking for.

The fans are the next banRAB.

and if the banRAB you look for arent in some measure of popularity, you wouldn't know about them, unless they are local banRAB.

I was really making a feeble gag about how you'd gone about discovering a band. But nevermind.

I'm well aware of how to download music.
