Anime Expo 2009 Talkback

Anyone here actually attending? I'm making it my goal to meet at least one person the web I know or do not. Basically for those who want to see me, I'll be wearing a Black Batman Shirt, with the syrabol in Bright Yellow. Hope to catch someone there.

I have a guess that the Rep was misinformed, and the DB sets will be Fullscreen. The trailer is even Fullscreen, and it didn't seem like it was Widescreen footage that had been cropped to Fullscreen.

The only way to see the dubbed Shippudden is to buy the single DVRAB?

Screw you Viz.

Shippudden isn't worth it.

I laughed when I saw the main cast of Slayers except David Moo are back (with Sinterniklaas as Xellos and the director). Ah poor David Moo, at least he was good as a bit character in Ninja Turtles.

Sengoku Basara (or, as I like to call it, Samurai Warriors: The Anime) got licensed? I wonder if they'll use the video game VA's.

Oh wait, most people that were involved on the Samurai Warriors series are from Los Angeles.

Viz should've licensed it, but, whatever.

Fail and double fail. $240 before tax for a series is unacceptable, and Eureka 7 sold like dry mold. This isn't what I was hoping to hear.

Glad to hear about the E7 movie. Hopefully it will get a prompt blu-ray release.

I'm guessing nobody asked why the Gundam 00 streams aren't available in Canada? If not, would it be at all possible for anyone to catch Robert and get an answer out of him? Not that I'm expecting very many people at the con to have time to check this thread.

FUNi, thank you thank you THANK YOU for bringing back the fab four for Slayers. You've made this fan highly happy and ready to purchase the first set when it comes out.

Oh and Sgt. Frog coming so soon isn't too bad, I'm interested to see how Bandai fares with their Jpop project on iTunes, truly unfortunate (to me anyway now that it's clarified) that the Lucky Star OAV is subtitles only, and that Shippuden is only single volumes and can be the only place to see the dub (Not that I care for Naruto, but even then I find that stupid).

Looking forward to the Eureka Seven movie. It looks like it'll be quite fun.

Hayate's release, though, is quite foolish unless they have a high-profile TV deal on the way.

I've heard that Viz has some big announcement today. Hopefully it's something about the One Piece manga acceleration. But knowing them, it's probably going to be something about Naruto.

Very interesting.

I would LOVE to see One Piece on American TV again, but I don't see where it would go. Cartoon Network doesn't show much anime anymore...

They aren't even bothering to dub Hayate and yet Bandai expects consumers to pay $40 bucks for 3 to 4 episode disks.

What's the date again? Because it seems we have been magicaly transported back to 1995.

It ain't Samurai Warriors man. It's a thing we'd call; Devil Kings in the U.S. Perhaps now we'll be able to see more of this in the U.S, which we'll be able to finall see a Wii release as well.

Musou = Dynasty Warriors & Samurai Warriors
Sengoku Basara = Anything Devil Kings

Honestly I couldn't care less about Naruto either, but I agree. I was actually laughing when Naruto was taken off and Bleach was still there. But I didn't think at the time "If they removed Naruto what other anime would they possibly put up?" Obviously, none. =(

Personally I'd be happt to see Naruto & Onepiece back on TV again, but I diubt it'll ever happen. I'm Glad Bleach is still on AS though. (even though there in a mini-filler right now)
