Anime Expo 2009 Talkback

The new titles announced at the Nozomi panel are Junjo Romantica and Antique Bakery.

Also, Nozomi announced that they got the Aria OAV and the third Aria TV series.

The original series is not meant to be viewed in widescreen. Things meant to be seen are lost.

It's not about fitting on a widescreen TV. If you can deal with black bars on top, you can deal with them on the sides instead.

Yeah, I finally got around to see what rightstuff's countdown was about, needless to say I was severly dissapointed. Not that I really care considering I didn't even know of Rightstuf/nazo whatevers existence until this year, no hair off my back. But they really need to save stuff for TRULY BIG annoncment. Like Dubs or Redubs of Major series, not That Nich stuff!

Good lord some one give me New Dr.Slump already!!!

God I hope FUNI's suprise about the DB franshise is DB Kai or the Jump Tour special. Or they may announce that they're redubbing DB movie 1.

Well I have no news to report from the Anime Expo floor, but I think I do have something that could qualify as a rumor:

As some of you may or may not know, to compensate for ADV not being at conventions as of late David Williams' distribution company has set up booths at different cons selling ADV DVRAB. While I was there I bought the first "Saint Seiya" set and talked to a woman at the booth about why they can't license more episodes. She explained what I thought: that ADV sub-licensed through DiC, who no longer works on the show, and toei Animation doesn't want to re-arrange the license agreement

I started another dialogue with her. I said that they're probably more focused on "One Piece", to which she said, "Yeah, that's like their baby." I went on saying they're probably more caught up dealing with simulcast deal with FUNmation to which she agreed as well. I then said they're probably still trying to get it back on T.V. while she was taking an order for another customer, and when that happened this big grin started growing on her face and she said in a slightly lower voice that she wouldn't be surprised by that.

So take that as you will, to me it just means there's stll something to be optimistic about.

This says it's fullscreen.

NO SENSE DOES THIS MAKEY...

Other than the reps at AX not knowing squat...

Well, Bandai shot themselves in the foot again by announcing that Hayate the Corabat Butler will be released across 8 volumes, with each one being $40. Hopefully, they'll make up for that with a good title announcement.

EDIT: Bandai announced that they have the Eureka Seven movie.
