If you actually read my post, you would see that I was saying the same thing you are. Arguing over which decades have higher quality is pointless.

But instead let's bitch about people bitching in a thread where the entire point is to bitch about things, seeing as the title is "Things that piss me off about music".

How many times does it need pointing out none of these are in any order?

do people actually read what I write or do they just look at the title and rush to comment. I'm seriously beginning to wonder.
 
Not true, Oh My Gawd and Finally the Punk Rockers are Taking Acid are both solid albums. Besides Radiohead released more music and in some cases better music in the 00s than in the 90s.
 
Because the video is important as well.

I do agree with how idiotic audio-swapping is, though. I had a video for a project and the music fit perfectly with the slideshow at the beginning.

And then there was another video I had, and it was my friend and I talking about whatever with music in the background... they just removed the sound altogether... which completely defeats the purpose of THAT type of video. xD

No, I don't, I quite like it, but the idea is that a lot of people love that album, and to fault that album's fans for trying to defend it if it was brought up out of nowhere is ridiculous.

The whole point of releasing music is to get people to listen to it. You notice there I said 'release' as opposed to 'make'. If every song you release is just a vehicle to show off your instrument noodling then do I fuck need to give you any credit for that. Doing that in my eyes makes you well practised , not talented.

Talent requires putting that aural masturbation you have endlessly practised into a piece of art where it can be appreciated. What's the point in having impressive solos if everything else surrounding it is a total crock of shit full of cliche after cliche?
If your writing songs with generic song titles and lyrics with absolutely nothing of interest to say about anything , and then putting 10 minutes of guitar wanking in the middle of it it's probably fair to say that maybe you should put the guitar down and try practising something else. Going out & getting some life experience would be a help rather than shutting yourself away endlessly practising your technique would be a start.

If you want to make shit like this keep it in your bedroom and don't expect me to be impressed.
