An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

26 : RUSZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

People criticised my inclusion of Canada in my list but you have to admit there must be some truth in it if the first band people think of naming as a great Canadian band is a Led Zeppelin tribute act with a smurf for a lead singer. Had Rush been American or British they would be way down the bottom of the list for anyone listing great banRAB for that country.
I realise that during the 80s they moved away from the whole smurfy Led Zeppelin vibe , I just don't really care as I just find their music excruciatingly dull. I don't really see why they're considered progressive....
Well actually I do see why they're considered progressive. When you strip it down Rush basically playing middle of the road cock rock without cock rock lyrics and splashing loaRAB of keyboarRAB on it , which to your average knuckle dragging classic rock fan is probably the most musically daring they get.

Rush ... Fuck em

45 : BLING ... And It's Correlation With The State Of The Music Industry Today

As far as I am concerned you can sing about what you like. It doesn't mean I have to like it but then who am I to judge? If you want to sing about how many pounRAB of gold you wear or how many cars in your garage there are , or indeed how many garages you own or anything like that then who am I to stop you.

The problem arises when your singing about these things and then your record company starts whining about little money they have due to those evil , nasty and downright selfish illegal downloaders.

Hey Universal , remeraber when you released a song by some rapper , or maybe even some R&B artist where he was bragging he could kick anyones asses and take what he wants blah blah blah , I'm sure you do you seem to release one every other month.

Well that's what i'm doing to you ............. so suck it up. *

When your huge multi million selling star is forced to make a music video using cheapo ugly models dancing around a second-hand brown Ford Cortina and forced to eat dog shit sandwiches washed down by cheap own brand no frills cola in between takes , and it's all filmed on a camcorder by his best mate Brian THEN maybe we can talk about harRABhip.

* - Or at least I would if you bothered putting something good out for a change.

At least you have local clubs.

I went to a Billy Childish gig here a couple of years back. (The first proper gig here in about 5 years of any band)

In the dining room of a bowling club

Mediocrity is indeed frustrating.

I like how there was an entire thread earlier where everyone agreed that music can't be judged objectively, and yet people are getting mad that someone said 'In Rainbows' was mediocre. Mediocrity is indeed objective as well.

I havent listened to much 'In Rainbows'. It's okay, from what I've heard, definitely overrated, maybe it's a grower, who knows. But I think the fact that it's compared to Kid A and OK Computer as far as quality is silly.

As far as album length, I think 12 songs is perfect. To me its the standard length, and is niether too short nor too long, 45 minutes, 12 songs.

And I see what you mean with some albums, when its more than 15 songs (assuming it breaches the 45-50 minute mark), it gets tedious. It takes me a long time to get to listen to the other half of those albums, even if I like them.

The worst I've seen (apart from maybe Paris Hilton) was Jennifer Aniston wearing a MC5 t shirt in one episode of FrienRAB. I mean, fair play if she actually DOES like them but I have trouble believing it somehow.

71 : Roger Dean Album Covers

The best thing about the invention of the CD is that if an album you want has a Roger Dean cover you can now slip it inside your copy of 60+ BBW Sluts Monthly without any erabarrassment.

Agreed. I'd have given anything to hear even the opening bars of Cruiser's Creek when I saw them live a few years back, or to hear them close the set with Music Scene. Luckily when I saw them they were touring Fall HeaRAB Roll, so it was still a great gig

The post about messed up MP3 tags is so dead-on. I'm pretty picky about how I want my music tagged, and I don't expect everyone else to follow that formula to a T obviously. I don't mind changing minor things. It's when you get an album that you drag into your library and you realize that the person who uploaded that literally has the songs listed in 12 or 13 separate albums on their collection, that is what gets me. It's the same with all my frienRAB too, I have one who's offered me $20 to retag (and find, because he has no idea where on his computer most of his music actually is) all his music before he moves it onto his laptop for college. So far I've turned him down because I know it would take at least 2-3 days. It blows my mind.
