So what's there to be said about this smug self satisfied slapheaded tax dodging serial marriage serial divorce paying-out purveyor of slack jawed middle of the road dross.

Smug musicians are bad enough , a smug drummer is just taking the piss.
I would go into detail about his musical career but I have a very important appointment to have my toenails curled , as opposed to having my toes curled which is what will happen if I set foot anywhere within 200 meters of a Genesis album.

Edit: I remeraber when he did that thing for Live Aid , playing on 3 continents in 24 hours.

I was hoping for a 4th gig at the bottom of the ocean.
 
I've been exposed to him only through transitive property--my brother used to take special pains to listen to Babysharables. I have...never expressed a desire to listen to him.

Why does Nirvana get the blame for every mainstream rock band in the past 15 years that lacks technical ability? As if they never existed before Nirvana. :laughing:
 
Lol, they probably made a big deal about it because Mitt Romney was a delusional conservative douchebag who considered voting for Clinton/Obama a surrender to terrorism and constantly talked about changing America from liberal to conservative (he even said Washington needed to be changed back to conservative because the liberals have had it too long, despite the fact his party has held the white house for the past 8 years and the democrats haven't done shit since they got the house.) He also did a complete 180 on half his stances he had when he was running for governor to when he started running for president and all that has nothing to do with the fact he hates the idea of seperation of church and state. I don't know why you think Mitt Romney would save the American economy either, the man is a big believer in Bush and Reaganomics.
 
Yeah but it is not really an alternative sound. In Britain they were just another safe middle of the road rock band. Shamefully I like a couple of their tracks :yikes:
 
I told you i'd have trouble explaining what I meant :D

I was talking more about the music than the production although that was a small part of it.

I'm not saying I want those things in all albums , just in albums of this sort. I just think making clean sounding radio friendly big budget protest music contradicts itself. With metal it's different I think a metal band with good production does wonders because the music is the primary focus , not the message.

It feels like someone made a checklist to see what sort of things your average anti establishment 14 year old kid would like and put it into practice. To me they sound like a manufactured band , even if they are or not.
 
Interestingly enough I've never even heard of that song. I just looked it up on Wikipedia and found out that it was his biggest single ever in the UK but only released as a b-side in the US. It's weird how stuff like that happens.

Spare me the boring debate about innocence or guilt and just answer a question. Would YOU let YOUR child sleep in his bed with him unsupervised.

Taking the fun out of music since time began.

Ever since man first picked up an instrument there's been someone around trying to profit from it.

I could go off on a long rant about this but what would be the point? You all know what a bunch of self serving , manipulative , greedy , tasteless bunch of fucks with no morals these people are , exploiting everything you love for the sake of getting a few more dollars out of your pocket.

Let's face it , I bet you've all got your own hatred just building up inside you just from reading the title of this entry along.

So just this time i'll open this up to the forum and let you express just what you hate about these parasites.And when you've posted a few i'll let you know what No 1 is ........
 
Truer worRAB were never spoken. Everyone raves about Bob FM, but even that is pretty tame and predictible.


And Urban, though I hate Bono as a musician, I do think he has the right idea. No, people shouldn't blindly listen to him just because he's a rock star, but he's using his celebrity to publicize worthy causes (and to highlight injustices), and how can that be bad?
