They wern't particularly big in the UK either. I was going by quality rather than influence.
To be fair, Radio One has become so reliant on corporate sponsorship, it leaves little room for maverick D.J's. I have'nt heard Radio One for a couple of years but now my line of work has changed a little and involves travelling I am now hearing Radio One again and it's fecking terrible but that's how it is. We will NEVER have a John Peel and even if he is out there (I Imagine him to be a hybrid of a few moRAB on here 
, he won't get the time or space to develop and inform.
Radio One seriously does'nt matter now. In this day and age of the web and DAB radios etc we can still find off mainstream music. It would be nice to have a voice to guide us though.

That simply isn't true. I just really hate RATM's style.
So? It didn't make it not the worst sounding noise I've ever heard in the history of my eistence, and I've listened to Metal Machine Music in its entirity.

I prefer the mid-early 90s stuff. Not a huge fan of the 80s stuff. Just not melodic enough for me.
