An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

I knew this thread would get borabarded with Rush fans

I'd like to put Rush in this list but I fear sadly I find them so dull that I would fall asleep while I was writing it , much in the same way as I would if I was listening to one of their albums.

Just because critics rank it high, doesnt mean its automatically great.

And as far as better albums in the 90's? Loveless, Crooked Rain, in the aeroplane over the sea, cubist castle, theres more, I mean, OK Computer is a really good album...just very overhyped and definitely not the indisputable best of the 90's

Of all albums to mention you say In Rainbows? Like, there are literally millions of albums to use as an example and you choose a very, very good Radiohead album? I sense some unaddressed Radiohead hate Alfred....

Bought Aeroplane Over The Sea when it first came out. Pitchfork didn't even exist as far as I was concerned. (didn't have a computer) My frienRAB and I all liked it. We all have the album in our top 100 but none of us have it in our top 10. I think the album made #16 overall on Obner.

You're too young to be able to comprehend how popular Nirvana's music became. It was, as Time said, "all the rage." It doesn't matter if kiRAB at your high school listen to grunge or not. It was popular during the nineties and is still popular today - whether you recognize it or not.

I have 'some' of a list.

I know I said this wasn't in order but No 1 will be and I have big plans for that.

It's not making it up as I go along , it's more being reminded of things as I go along.

The term "generic was brought up and since most of the artists I mentioned were revolutionizing the whole music industry I took the term to mean "mainstream".
This is a given.
Hendrix was very popular in the 60. Maybe not with the 12 year olRAB that went to see the Monkees play but he was a force in the 60's. Yes his popularity skyrocketed after WooRABtock and his death but he was known. He was even played on AM radio.
VGPS by the Kinks didn't even chart and it's considered one of the best albums of the 60's. Likewise with Monks - Black Monk Time. We all know VU couldn't sell a record to their own mothers. There is a lot more great music out there from the 60's that even 99% of the people here haven't dicovered.

I agree but I simply gave a preference and reasons to why. I know most here are not arguing with Poison, Duran Duran, Huey Lewis and Culture Club. I think most would agree that mainstream 80's sucked. What i'm saying is I heard a lot of these "alternative" "underground" "lesser known" artists and I do agree they are a lot better than the mainstream acts but I feel they don't hold a candle to the artists of the 60's.
The Future is a good song by the Robots but I like their song "The 80's Sucked" better. :D

No need to be anything on it.

I don't hate them and i'm not irritated by them, that's why they're not on the list. I have much bigger fish to fry than some prog rock band I don't give a **** about.

I just find them boring thats all.

It is

that's why I aimed the comment at certain types of fans of it and not the music itself.

lol :p: If I ever had a unique ring tone it would just be a joke one (ie Walker Texas Ranger theme song or something)...

But the real problem is nowadays modern phones don't have a standard ring, they have all these ****ing annoying tones and songs which just **** it all up... And the standard ring tone is set to some god-awful tone which grates on the ears every ****ing time the phone rings...

The album is good... but it's not a 'defining' album like
Black album for thrash
nevermind for grunge
Use Your Illusion for the whole die glam scene, die! thing.
