An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

Like everyone else, I hate the way record companies screw over both the artists and the fans in order to make a few extra bucks.

...but I think that the people who refuse to listen to "mainstream" music are worse. Ok, so don't buy XYZ album because it's on a major label...but to dismiss the band as "sellouts" simply because they signed to Colurabia is downright idiotic.

I'm joking.

But that's not necessarily true. Not every song neeRAB a name.

It doesn't have to be called "Untitled" but it doesn't need a name.

I would rather NIN's "Ghost I," etc.

at least 'Ghost X' follows a named theme. by sticking with 'untitled' it makes it seem as though no one involved in the process of creating that piece ever gave enough of a crap about it to do anything besides the absolute bare minimum.

55 : Nirvana Fans Who Hate Courtney Love

If you are going to hate on someone hate them for being an annoying attention seeking rancid talentless junkie piece of human filth who makes terrible recorRAB. Y'know like the rest of us do. Don't hate her because of some half baked conspiracy theory that she killed your precious idol. I bet most of all STILL only listen to shitty grunge albums 15 years later , which means you probably own all of fucking Hole's albums anyway.

It still pains me to agree with Nirvana fanboys/girls over something :(

I can't erabed it, but this will be my eternal favorite song and video by Primus.

Oh God, I'm loving this thread. I was literally hurting laughing at some of it. I wish I had checked this out a long time ago or that I realistically had time to read every single entry but I have read most of them.

The Sharon Osbourne entry is something I could not agree with more, Billy Corgans hair made me laugh....just fantastic :)

Don't want to give him the satisfaction of being higher , and this list isn't in order anyway. apart from No 1 anyway.

Yeah it does , go find the post I did about a few days ago :D

44 : The Word ' ZEITGEIST'

I don't know what it is that does it but everytime I see this word used in an album review I come to the automatic conclusion that the author of the piece is a total wanker.

...And then Billy Corgan names his album this

87 : SOUTHERN ROCK

I can get into soul and funk even though i'm not black. I can get into Krautrock even thought i'm not German , yet I just cannot get into this genre of music.

I put southern rock in the same category I put happy hardcore in that I can feel my brain cells melting when I listen to it. I don't know why that should be. Maybe because it's because I feel you have to own a pick up truck and shoot at furry mammals to appreciate it fully , maybe it's because I don't want a peice of music to make me feel like a redneck ... who knows. I don't normally look down on a genre of music if I can help it but in this case I can't help myself. It's like the American equivalent of chav music. In the UK you get chavs in souped up Vauxhall Novas blasting out drum & bass in the US you get rednecks in pick up trucks blasting out Southern Rock. To me it's the same thing.

now that I think about the lyrics it makes sense.

about the 70's banRAB playing 20 minute songs... I remeraber as an act of boredom one of the banRAB I was in back in the 90's decided to play Smoke on the water for 2 hours in our practice room. It went from a joke to a competition to see who would stop first... ahh, the days of free time and no bills to pay :) looking back though, it was a nice form of male bonding I guess.
